Update May 2017: we finally have adsl, so internet in the house is fully working.

Have you ever dreamt to spend your holidays in the Tuscan country-side in a romantic, cosy house on a river? Your dream has come true!
Casa Carlotta is an old house, a mill, completely restored, preserving its original image with a warm and cosy atmosphere where the old and the new perfectly meet. It is the ideal place to spend both a relaxing and cultural holiday.

Casa Carlotta is a two-storey house: on the ground floor there is a living-room with a fireplace, a dining room, a kitchen (equipped with all the modern comforts) a toilet and another smaller living-room, in addition to a terrace where it is possible to relax. There is also a garden equipped with tables, chairs and check-chairs where guests can have their meals or relax surrounded by the Tuscan countryside. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms with private bathroom and shower and a living-room/studio with a sofa-bed. Guests can enjoy a private terrace overlooking a river, a paradise for reading and relax. The outdoor area also features a barbecue grill and a dining table to enjoy the outdoors while cooking a typical Tuscan product on the grill. The house has a hifi music system with a wide classical music collection. The house is also equipped with an internet mobile wifi router, for guests use. The router is portable, so it can be also used outside the house.

As per beds, you can count on two bedrooms with double beds, another room (studio) with a french bed (in between a double and a single) and a sofa bed in the second living room (which can work as a forth bedroom), for a total of 7 places. In addition we also have one baby cot for guests use (if needed).

The house is extremely fresh even during summer months (it is not unusual to sleep with a blanket even during August).

The house is situated in an old, quiet village called Ponte agli Stolli, in the famous area of Chianti Classico (10 km from Greve), a strategic point to reach the most famous Tuscan cities such as Firenze, Siena and Arezzo. It is the ideal place to spend both a relaxing and cultural holiday. The house is in the middle of nature, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. The site is of untouched nature, very panoramic/romantic and charming. Walking distance to the house (200 meters) there are a grocery shops, a bar and a restaurant/pizzeria (extremely good and value for money, only open on saturdays and sundays). The house is very close to Greve in Chianti (around 10 Km, around 10\15 minutes), Florence (35 minutes by train or car), Arezzo (40 minutes by train or car), Siena and San Gimignano (1 hr by car). Nearby the house there are horse riding facilities (1km) and a swimming pool (1km). The house overlook a small river that forms some natural pools where (in the right conditions) it is possible to swim.

The neighborhoods offer wonderful walking itineraries and wine tasting experiences. There are some nice market places close to the house: Greve, Panzano, Arezzo with its antiques market.

Upon request, we can arrange cooking lessons with an English speaking chef who will teach you to prepare a delicious Tuscan lunch or dinner.

The prices include taxes, bed-linen, towels, the consumption of water, gas and power and final cleaning. Expenses for heating will be charged separately (on consumption - to be paid at check-out).

At arrival we ask for a deposit of €150 against possible damages and/or losses. This deposit will be refunded at departure, expenses caused by damages or losses may be deducted.

Very cute quaint home in the Chianti hills. Very spacious and relaxing. The neighbors are all very nice. Make sure to bring some toiletries and use Waze or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps to find there place.

A perfect place to stay while exploring Tuscany. Charming in a very Italian way, and even better than we had expected. The place was very clean, beds were comfortable, and I wish we had had more time to enjoy the wonderful outdoor space. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. And we enjoyed the music collection which can be played in speakers throughout the house. There were so many lovely details - such as a hat box filled with shoe polish - that made this one of my best airbnb experiences. The town is very small with just one little bodega that has everything you could need. There is a little restaurant run by the community which opens at 7:30pm on the weekends. It's popular so make a reservation, as it was one of our favorite dining experiences and definitely the best pizza we had during our trip. Cheap and delicious! The town is only 45 minutes from Florence, 2 hours from the coast, and centrally located to explore the region. Others had mentioned problems with the wireless connection, but this seems to have been resolved as it worked well for the five days we were there. I truly hope I get back to this area, and I would definitely stay here again if possible.

A wonderful little house!!! Decorated well, very comfortable and well stocked with everything you could need. The village was very sweet, with a restaurant and cafe open on the weekend. We could have easily spent a few weeks here relaxing.

Lovely, spacious home. Well equipped and situated conveniently for day trips into Florence and Pisa but away from the hustle of tourists. We had lovely days just relaxing outside in the little garden and walking around the village. The only drawback was that the wifi was offline, this appears to be an issue according to the guestbook, and the 3G signal is poor. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

The Old Mill was located in a lovely little village. There was a nice store in the village and a restaurant as well. You would need a car to get around Tuscany. There was adequate parking that was accessible which is not always easy in this area. Great location for getting around Tuscany. Some excellent hints of what to do left by the host's and other guests. The place was lovely and there was a lot of room both inside and out. At night it did cool down very well which was great for sleeping. When checking in, time was taken to explain things to us. We also found out that the mill is on an old Roman bridge - very exciting for a bunch of historians!

When we arrived, Laura welcomed us and showed us the house and its premises and was very helpful. We had a great stay at the charming old mill in Ponte Agli Stolli for two weeks. It's a perfect spot for day excursions to nearby towns and villages in Tuscany. Greve in Chianti is next door basically as well as the picturesque Montefioralle. Florence is close and mustn't be missed even though there are a great many tourists. It's easy to park below the train station in the city centre. Sienna and Arezzo are not far away either and beautiful. The house was fantastic and just as nice as we'd expected. The wifi however didn't work and it was impossible to get any mobile connection/service at the house. It wasn't a major problem but we thought it would be possible to check our mailboxes and send text messages etc. since we partially had to do some work during our stay. We had to go into other towns to deal with this and use our data roaming. Otherwise we had a lovely time and would recommend it warmly. Thanks to Luca, Laura and friends, Best, Nina & family

This is a beautiful, peaceful spot off the beaten path. The village is quite small, but there is a small shop and a pizza restaurant (open only on weekends which we didn't have a chance to try). The house is full of charm and the outdoor area is especially wonderful, overlooking a waterfall and surrounded by trees. The main bedrooms are small but comfortable -- be aware that the studio room with the french bed is adjacent to the neighbor's house and we had some problems with noise in that room. The main issue we had was that the wifi router did not work at all, and we had very poor cell service. Because Luca doesn't live in the area, communication was a bit challenging. His sister and his mother live in Florence and they were both helpful once we were able to get in touch with them. One of the highlights was when we arranged for Luca's mother Laura to cook us a truly amazing tuscan dinner including handmade pasta and freshly baked biscotti -- I highly recommend this! Overall we had a wonderful experience and hope to come back soon!
