We had a wonderful experience staying at Sophie’s place! The apartment has a ton of charm and we really appreciated all of the hand-built touches that made it feel really loved/lived in. It’s in a great location—safe and close to both the midtown and downtown areas, making it eas…

This place was perfect for how we used it... Really just a place to sleep each night. Check in instructions were clear and easy to follow, and street parking was easy to find. The location made it easy to walk lots of places or take a cheap Lyft. The unit itself was spotless and …

Had a decent stay. Place was decorated very nicely but is still a basement and you will not forget this when you see bugs crawling on the floor and hear the loud footsteps above you at all hours of the night. Things looked clean superficially but there was lots of dust particles …

Response from Sophie:
Jake, I was really surprised to read your review, as nothing you said during your stay indicated you were not happy with any aspect of the space. As a responsive host, I would have welcomed the opportunity to attend to any issue you had raised during your stay. As the vast majority of our reviews reflect, we take cleanliness extremely seriously, and our cleaner works hard to clean the space between guests, as well as doing a regular deep clean throughout; if there is a spot she missed, we would ask her to attend to it. One downside of exposed brick that we are constantly contending with is dust - the brick gives the place great character and warmth, but it's admittedly not terribly practical for cleaning. As for the occasional spider or similar making its way indoors...I really can't imagine any host that can promise you that will never happen. Overall, I'm sorry to hear your experience wasn't the best. Thanks for the feedback.

The space was really cute and perfect for what we were looking for. The sound really does travel between the upstairs tenants and us, so you definitely need to be mindful of the noise. There is no oven and the kitchen is pretty small, but if you aren't trying to make a thanksgivi…
