A cozy apartment in one of Tuscany's quietest place, with birds singing you a happy day. A full immersion in nature. Quiet, but not remote – Garfagnana, Lucca, Pisa are at most a hour away, Florence is near.

The space

• A village near (30mins) Lucca
• 2 bedrooms (4 four people) / 1 bathroom / 1 kitchen / tiny garden
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Free Internet access
• No heating or air conditioned needed in summer, weather is great
• 60 square meters (650 sq. feet)
• Parking spots 10 meters from the apartment
• Small garden to relax

The owners will be discreetly available to give you tips and advice, if requested.

You can surf the web via a protected WiFi network, no bandwidth limits. The wifi speed is not great but it works.

Within walking distance (100m to 2km), you can find various restaurants, a grocery store and mini-market, a tabacconist, and a bunch of bars and breakfast places. Supermarkets are a few kilometers away (2), like other nightlife attractions such as the theathre.

There are buses and trains available, almost every hour, so you will not have transportation problems to reach major cities such as Lucca (30 minutes) or Pisa and Florence (60 minutes).
If you come by car you can easily park it near the apartment, about 10 meters from it.

There are great places too to enjoy nature: Grotta del vento (Wind cave), Orrido di Botri, Prato Fiorito, Abetone, and many small yet beautiful villages.

If something is bothering you or you need further explanation on something that is missing, just ask. We are always available.

Heating is considered as an extra and you have to pay what you consume (1€/m3), but you won't really need it if you come here in summer.

Guests will have to bring their own bathrobes.

Guest access

Guest will have access to the entire apartment, no shared rooms.

A small garden is also available.

Interaction with guests

I usually give a brief tour of the apartment upon arrival, then help finding places to go and stuff to do. Then, unless you directly contact me or need something, I leave you alone.

We never got to meet Diego & what made our last 2 Airbnbs so special was getting to meet/know our hosts. We found the shower extremely dangerous, it was sandwiched in between the bidet & sink, with a bit of a hole in the floor to stand in. There was nothing to hang on to while showering, plus the temperature of the shower was very difficult to regulate. The bath towels provided were more like dish towels, so thin & small. No pods or what kind to buy for the coffee machine were provided. So it was useless. The kettle had a whole in it, so it was useless.

Response from Diego:
Dear Stephen, we are very clear on what we do (and don’t) provide in the apartment. You knew what to expect before booking the house. Also, as usual, I’ve been reachable at any time (and so have my parents) during your stay. But not once you’ve asked for help or clarification, I have proof of various messages I’ve sent you asking how your stay was going. We have always been happy to help our guests if need to in the past, but we need to know if something is wrong to be able to fix it.

The apartment was a perfect base for our family of 4. It had everything we needed and felt like a home for our 3 night stay. Diego's communication was much appreciated and he provided lots of useful information for our stay. We didn't take advantage of the local restaurants as we cooked for ourselves each night. But there are plenty of good restaurants nearby if required. Bagni di Lucca is a lovely area with lots to do and see. Our boys loved the Wind Caves and the Fortress of Verrucole and we had a lovely morning in Barga. Thank you Diego for letting us stay in your lovely apartment. We had a great time!

Perfect central location for exploring the Garfagnana region. We enjoyed day treks in the Alpi Apuane and Apennine mountains and visiting sites up and down the Serchio Valley. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, with a gorgeous view and garden we could use- which we enjoyed breakfasting in each day. Diego's parents were vert welcoming and Diego shared a long list of places to see with us. Lovely place for the two of us, but would have been great for a family too, with second bedroom with two single beds.

Diego's place is wonderful. The views are stunning, the location perfect. The neighbourhood is quiet and restful. The flat on hot sunny days is cool and pleasant and it is wonderful to wake up to bird song in the morning. Having use of a small garden was an added bonus and it was a delightful place to sit on the hot sunny days. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well arranged so we had everything we needed. Diego is a perfect host, arranging every detail with us and keeping us informed. The apartment is walking distance to restaurants but we preferred to do all our own cooking and the kitchen equipment supplied everything we needed. There are amazing places to walk from the flat and if one has a car or can find information on buses, there are some amazing walks in the area. This is a perfect holiday place. Although there were only two of us, the extra bedroom would make it a perfect place for a family.

Diego and his family were so very kind. We booked last minute and they were very accommodating. The apartment has a gorgeous view and is cozy and warm, also well-equipped. The town was lively and the food great. There is a lot to do in the area, whether you're interested in historical or nature-related activities. Diego did a great job providing this information for us. Would definitely stay again!

I like new stuff, ideas, and people. I feel like you can never be too sure about anything and whenever you meet and talk to new people you learn about things you didn't know before and become a wiser person. I'm studying Medicine in Pisa, I love handcrafted-stuff and good desi…
