I don't know where to start! The house was beautiful, the surrounding and the views were amazing, but more than anything the hospitality was out if this world. We felt like we were visiting family. They were waiting for us when we came late in the afternoon and immediately made us and our three children (10,7,5) feel at home by making them shaved ice from homegrown blackberries and the adults got freshly brewed coffee. We made ourselves at home and were served dinner that evening. The next morning we had planned to visit the Irazu volcano but it was raining so instead we went and fed the pigs, our son took a little ride on one of the horses and when it cleared up we were guided on the most amazing hike on their property. It felt like we were in a fairy tale. We decided to do the drive around Cachi Lake and stop by the wood workers " house of the dreamer". They are two brothers who carve out figurines from coffee roots. Very cool! The drive wss beautiful and we had lunch with a view. Back at the house we were again served shaved ice, coffee and later dinner. The following morning we finally got to go to the Irazu volcano and the family was up a's had breakfast ready at 5:30! We can't say enough good things about the place. It was amazing and the drive up was not as treacherous as expected. We would love to come back and stay longer. Thanks Rosi, Giselle, and Roger!!

This place was AMAZING! But as a forewarning, you WILL need a vehicle and it will need to have a high wheel base also maybe 4x4, I didn't use mine because I wasn't sure how to so 2 wheel drive will be good but it is a really steep mountain you will have to drive up with lots of hairpin turns up a very rocky drive. I would definitely add an hour of travel time up the mountain to your itinerary. But once you are there, you will be on top of the world! It has the most amazing view I have ever seen from every window of the house!! You over look Orosi Valley, and it a must see from this farm! The Host and his mother are the most warm and welcoming people I had encountered on my whole trip. Rosa (the mom) will make the most authentic and most delicious dishes (she made us plantain ceviche!). They also have a sustainable farm that they get all their food from so it is the definition of 'farm to table'. They can take you on a tour of the rainforest nearby and give you horseback rides through the valley. Without a doubt I would recommend this place to real travelers who want to leave the road most traveled behind and immerse themselves in a culture full of pura vida. If you are really looking to get away and have no worries, come to this farm, it is the best experience!
