Whether you are in Carrabassett Valley to ski, bike, golf, or hike, my home provides you with a convenient place from which to launch your adventures, and a comfortable place to kick back and relax after an active day. There's a fully equipped kitchen, but if you've had too much fun to cook, Tufulio's is a half mile away and The Sugarbowl is right next door.

This is a small quiet neighborhood in a wooded area just off Rt. 27. Old Huse Mill Rd crosses the airfield and ends at the Carrabassett Valley cemetery near the river. A trail bearing left off Old Huse Mill road leads to the Narrow Gauge where miles of cross country skiing and mountain biking can be enjoyed.

I retired from teaching high school biology 6 years ago and now have time to enjoy the outdoor activities I love: gardening, hiking, skiing and paddling. I feel very fortunate to live in two places where those activities are practically in my backyard. When I'm not outside, home projects, reading, making soap, and doing watercolors keep me busy. I have been a host for three years, sharing space in my Wayne home that has been in my family since 1967. It has been an interesting, and sometimes heartwarming experience, to extend hospitality to other people who also love the outdoors, and appreciate the beauty and peace of this lakeside environment. The Carrabassett home is new for me. It has required lots of TLC and is still a work in progress.
