The two-families cottage for 6 persons has a scenic position with view over the Biodola's Gulf, which you can reach in few minutes (the beaches are at about 500mt far). Wide garden with chairs and table to eat for a peaceful and comfortable holiday

The space

The two-families villa has an apartment for 6 persons with a large living room, a new kitchen area, a sofa, table and chairs, two double bedrooms (one bedroom has an en-suite bathroom), an intermediate room with a bunk bed, two bathrooms both with showers, an hair dryer. The apartment usually is very cool and windy.

The villa has a wonderful and scenic position over the sea. In few minutes you can reach the sandy beaches of Biodola (the most beautiful in the Elba's island) and Scaglieri also by foot walking on a paved road (in both beaches you can rent beach umbrellas, sun beds, pedal boats, etc..).
The villa is surrounded by a private pine forest and has a wide garden equipped with table and chairs and outdoor lamps at night. The garden is in common with the other apartment of the villa.

Two car parking spaces are available.
At the beach of Scaglieri there is a small market where you can go by feet, as well as some bars and restaurants. Otherwise other supermarkets are in Procchio or Carpani (close to Portoferraio town).

Elba is beautiful, and this apartment in a triplex is a short walk (down a steep and busy road) to the beach. However, the listing is misleading. I contacted the owner to request a partial refund and have excerpted her responses in quotes below. "I don't think my listing was inaccurated. The villa is a two family villa for 6 people since there are 6 beds. What do you mean with "triplex"?" In other words, this is not a villa with enough room for two families. It is a "villa" (AKA multifamily dwelling) with 2 (2-bedroom) apartments and what seems to be a third smaller apartment or studio. Thankfully, no one else was home while we were there, but the aerial picture does not represent the actual living space. "About the room with the bunkbed, in the listing it was very clear that it was an "intermediate room", it means that it is between the last bedroom and the previous hallway. It wasn't a hallway since it's much bigger than the hallway. Besides, to be more clear, I put a map of the apartment, so you could not misunderstand. Before you, noboby misunderstood... " In other words, this is NOT a 3-bedroom apartment as claimed. The "3rd" bedroom is a wide hallway with a bed in it. No windows. The bathroom is directly adjacent so anyone sleeping in the hallway is disturbed by other guests going to the bathroom. "Moreover, I specify in the message I sent you that you could use the green pipe to wash the sand out from your feet (usually I hang it up a tree outside). So there is this possibility. " In other words, "possibility of an outdoor shower" really means that you can hang up a hose from a tree. "About the Wi-fi, it was not specified in the listing because at the villa there is not!! On Airbnb there are many listings without Wi-fi, it's not mandatory to have it." Perhaps for European visitors with cellphone plans this is not at all a problem, but given the price, it would not be unreasonable to pay for wifi, even a slow connection. "In fine, about the music I know that during the summer sometimes (very few times in a month and not every night) you can hear music since there is a disco on the top of the mountain. I comprehend it can be annoying but it's not depend on us and when there is not music it's very quiet." In other words, the apartment is NOT QUIET with the traffic noise and the discos. There was music every night we were there. "The garden is reserved and protected by the trees and the pinewood, so during the day usually it's quiet and tranquil to have a nap in the garden or in the pinewood." The garden is perfectly pleasant but there is the sounds of cars, motorcycles, and trucks all day. On the plus side, it is nice not to have to...

The view from this house to the bay is spectacular! And the location is perfect--close enough to walk to the beautiful beach at Biodola, but far enough away to escape the crowd at the waterside. It's also an easy drive to just about anywhere on the island, if you want to shop, eat out, or tour the sites. The house itself is nice, though not overly fancy; typical beach house style. There is no air conditioning, but using windows and doors, the breeze keeps the house comfortable enough. The outdoor areas are very nice for eating or relaxing, though you may need some insect repellent. Elisabetta was a good host, very responsive, though we did not meet her personally. Celeste met us at the site for check-in, and a brief orientation to the house. The one downside was that it was a bit noisier than we expected. All traffic to and from Biodola goes by the house, and some drivers are in the habit of honking as they approach the curve, just in case someone is coming the other way. There is a disco or club by the beach that goes until dawn on Friday and Saturday, and if the windows are open you can hear them clearly, along with any drunken patrons staggering up the road. Also, the family who owns the other half of the house spends summers there. They are very nice and friendly, but they have a little girl about two years old, who seemed to be unhappy and cried a lot. Overall though, we very much enjoyed our time at Elisabetta's villa. The beach was wonderful, the island was beautiful, and there were many great restaurants to choose from. A great place to relax and enjoy a beach vacation.

This is a place we enjoyed a lot! Beautiful location with a superb view. We could hear the cars passing on the road below, but it did not affect us much. The host, Elisabetta, was very service minded and easy to communicate with. We found that the property had a very good location on the island. Close to the supermarkets at Porteferraio, and also close to the beaches just a few minutes down from the house. 20-30 minutes drive to small towns we went to in the evenings. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful tuscan stone house :-)

We really enjoyed our stay at Elisabettas villa the last 10 days in September (2 adults and a 4 year old child). Everything was as described. The view from the back, where we had breakfast every morning, is wonderful. In the evening this was impossible due to the mosquitos, but that is just life. After we found and used the "Vape" we had no more problems in the house. We knew the villa is located on the main road, but since it is somewhat elevated it did not bother us at all. Instead we found it practical for travelling. The beaches Biodola, Scaglieri and Forno are very near by and all ideal for children, although I must say we only walked to Biodola and Scaglieri once. Either you walk along the highly frequented main road (kind of stressful with a younger child) or take the short-cut, which was pretty strenuous for her along with beach equipment and the heat, since it is a very hilly. By car you reach them all within the blink of an eye, so for us it was no problem. Procchio is also very nice for children. We did our grocery shopping in Coop and Conad in Portoferraio (10 min by car), at the weekly markets that wander around the island or in Procchio. We did not meet Elisabetta in person, but communication with her always worked well. Instead Mrs Celeste was there to let us in and out. We heard the same DJ from the disco that Ulf was talking about, he kept us up one night until 4:30. Luckily that was only one night out of nine, so no reason not to visit this nice villa! We can only recommend it and Elba all together!! Thank you Elisabetta!(URL HIDDEN)

We had a great time at Elisabetta's place. The villa is surrounded by a large garden, where the kids have plenty of space to play and run around. The view from the terrace and the small platform in the 2nd floor was stunning. The property has no direct neighbours, so that we really felt undisturbed. We enjoyed the beaches at Scaglieri and Biodola with its fine sand very much, especially the kids liked that the beaches have very flat slopes. The house was very well equipped and we found everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. We did not meet Elisabetta personally, but the communication with her via airbnb was very quick, easy and helpful. Unfortunately it was not so quiet at night as we hoped as we could hear the cars/motorcycles from the street below the house very early and as there was a big party at the discotheque at the top of the bay at the first night with a DJ yelling into his microphone nearly the whole night.

The house is located in one of the best areas of the island. As a group of friends we loved being there. Having the best beach accessible by foot when we did not feel like driving, and having a great terrace to watch the sunset and eat and drink wine when we did not feel like spending money in restaurants! Immerged in green you fee secluded, yet you are close to everything. Definitely an experience that I will do again. I really enjoyed the house.
