Where you’ll be

Mineral, Washington, United States

The atmosphere inside the house is best described as being inside a cozy treehouse especially in the master loft where the windows and skylight are surrounded by large tree branches. Outside you have one of the greatest lakefront views of Mt. Rainier there is. Watch the sun set on the mountain while sitting by the fire pit or bring a fishing pool down to the dock for the same view.

Within a few blocks towards the end of the lake there is a small convenience store and a bar in the town of Mineral. Plan ahead and buy groceries, etc. before you get out here, as the closest grocery stores are about 30 min. drive to either Eatonville or Morton.

The town of Elbe (5 minute drive) features a more popular bar, gas station, and a pizza joint inside of a train. Elbe is know for the steam train rides and a tiny church.
A bit farther down the road to Paradise you’ll find Ashford (10-15 minute drive) you’ll find the Trailhead Bar and Grill, a few small stores, and Whittakers Mountaineering where you can find a coffee shop and rentals for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. In the summer Whittaker’s has a casual outdoor restaurant/beer garden often with live music. A staple for those coming off the mountain to enjoy.

Past Ashford you will find 3 good restaurants before arriving at the entrance to Mt Rainier National Park (15-20 minute drive from the tiny house)

The first restaurant is called Paradise Village Restaurant and they serve Ukrainian and Polish dishes (great stop for breakfast and homemade pastries on the way up to the mountain!)

The second restaurant serves traditional american and is called Copper Creek.

The third restaurant usually only open in the summer is called Wild Berry and serves Himalayan dishes.
