We loved our stay here with Vinod. Such a peaceful, relaxing place. The food was incredible and we were made to feel really welcome and at home. The trips that we did to the local weavers, and elephants and the boat trip were memorable and made our stay particularly special. We had 3 nights and wishes we'd stayed longer.

After a very intense week of Indian wedding celebrations in Delhi my boyfriend and I really wanted to go somewhere peaceful and get away from it all: Ayushkamy was the perfect place. We had a hut with a little veranda where we could sit and enjoy the views out onto the lake during the hot afternoons. The whole place was very tranquil and although there were other guests around, it felt very much like we had our own space and own little slice of paradise to chill out in. The morning yoga was great (so relaxing that my boyfriend fell asleep at one point!) and it was lovely to watch the rising sun whilst limbering up for the day. Just beyond the gates of the retreat is a nice beach which seems mostly deserted during the day, except for a few local fishermen. If you want to go a bit further afield you can rent a scooter from the retreat and head to Varkala, but really the beach and the lake are so beautiful and tranquil why would you want to leave! The food was really tasty and refreshing after the heavier, ghee-laden northern Indian food we had been eating. Vegans would feast well in Kerala generally but particularly at Ayushkamy. My absolute favourite was the garlic pickle served one lunchtime. We would definitely come back to Ayushkamy. A couple of ladies had been staying for six weeks and we could totally see why.

The Ayushkamy retreat is on a great location set between a lake and the ocean. Great place to relax, unwind and take in the beautiful surroundings. Vinod and all the staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place!

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. If you are in need of some need of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle or some TLC, this eco resort is perfect. It's a little idyllic hub, with very cool eco huts right by the calming backwaters. There are great lounge areas where you can read, drink tea, write. You can also do yoga classes in the morning or afternoon, get massages or see a ayureveda doctor for any health concerns. The food at Ayushkamy was delicious, extremely fresh and very healthy. The hosts Mahesh and Vinod were absolute darlings, very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again and recommend to all.

Ayushkamy is a great place to getaway from the noise and rush. It is located right on the backwaters of Kolam and the other end faces the beaches. The cottages are cute, eco-friendly and very well maintained cottages. You can step right off the cottages and into the beautiful lake it faces. The beach is much more clean and quiet beach where mostly only the locals visit. Whats more is Varkala is just 30 minute drive from here. They have inhouse Ayurveda consultaions, yoga sessions and ayurvedic massages. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Since we went there on the eve of new years, they'd arranged for bonfire and grilled fish. This place is hidden jewel, I preferred staying here than the crowded and heavily commercialized varkala beach.

Ayushkamy is an oasis of tranquility. Blissful food and possibly the best breakfast you're ever likely to have (make sure you ask for some of their home made Musli to take with you!). The cottages are tucked in between the ocean and the lagoon. The yoga classes are brilliant and they even have surfboards for a cheeky surf at the river mouth. A highly recommended break from your travels.
