This is a great home in a neighborhood that you can spend weeks eating and drinking through all of the fabulous dining spots! Check out my guidebook on the profile page with all of my close by favorites!

The space

This is a classic 1911 Craftsman style Portland bungalow. It's spacious, fully remodeled with plenty of character, lots of art, hardwood floors, well insulated and new windows, forced air heat, tankless on demand hot water heater, comfortable and clean. There are two guest rooms on the main floor, each with a separate listing.

The bedroom is on the main floor next to the bathroom. There is a comfortable queen size bed, dresser, bookshelf, and a desk.

The kitchen is spacious and filled with lots of handmade dishes. Filtered water is on the fridge and a coffee maker and grinder are available.

There is a nice front porch with sitting area and landscaped yard with lots of large trees, native style garden and patio seating in the back with a BBQ and outdoor fireplace.

Ceramics, sculpture, paintings, and prints are throughout the house. My ceramic studio is in the basement.

Eli the bengal mix cat that lives here mainly stays in my bedroom upstairs except when in the kitchen to eat. He doesn't shed much, so if allergies are an issue you may not even notice it here.

Guest access

You will have a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower right next to the bedroom that is shared with the other guest room, all on the main floor. The kitchen has a microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator in case you need to store your leftovers, snacks, cold drinks, as well as some pantry space if needed. Dining and living room also on the main floor, and there is a patio table in the backyard or you are welcome to sit on the covered front porch.

Interaction with guests

I'm usually home in the mornings and late afternoons if you have questions about getting around town or would like suggestions for places to go. You are always welcome to message me if I'm not there.

Other things to note

I have a very old cat and sometimes he gets a bit vocal. It sounds like a baby, so don't be alarmed!

We enjoyed the great hospitality that Cynthia provided. Her home is bright, cozy and decorated very attractively. Cynthia's place is in a great location for walking to great eating places.

Great time in a developing area! Cynthia was a great host; very informative. This Airb&b is within 6/7 blocks Alberta Street. Very cool restaurants/bars. If you’re looking for a low-key, exploring-type experience, this is a place to consider. Cheers!

After a very problematic day of travel and our car rental falling through, my partner and I lucked out when we were able to book a room at Cynthia's place (open due to a cancellation). We arrived late at night and though she hadn't expected us and had to leave the market early to meet us, she was a superb host. She provided tons of suggestions for all sorts of things. She was a pleasure to converse with on a bunch of different subjects. Her house had a ton of character and is filled with art. Close to many great places to eat. Lastly, the bedroom we had...had the BEST bed. It was the most comfortable sleep we have had in all the Airbnbs we've used....just as comfortable as a high quality hotel mattress. We stayed in the room to the left of the bathroom. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Great communication. Was in a pinch and she took us under very short notice and we were over 3 hours delayed from the original arrival time due to traffic.

Cynthia was a wonderful host! We enjoyed staying in her cute, art-filled home. The accommodations were tidy and clean. The neighborhood was very quiet. We felt very comfortable and safe! It was an easy drive to all the Portland destinations on our itinerary. We will definitely recommend Cynthia's home to anyone traveling to the Portland area!

Cynthia User ProfileCynthia is a superhost.

I'm a ceramic artist and also teach classes. I spend my free time cooking, working in the yard, making things, and enjoying good wine, beer, and food. I've been in Portland for almost 20 years and living here suits me well! I love the food and drink scene here, and regularly go out to visit art galleries and live music.
