Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Nestled in the mountainside of an obscure Colorado canyon there is a place so fitting it literally rises from the rock the way a ship breaks a wave. Mimicking the geology and angular unconformity of the canyon walls, a harmonic relationship exists between roof pitch and steep granite cliffs. Built for the traveler who seeks more than shelter but an experience, the magic at Thimble Rock will evoke feelings of nostalgia, romance and the yearning to explore.

The space
Private land that backs up to public lands. The area offers a host of nearby activities with accommodations designed for multi-day stays.

Neighbourhood highlights

As you might have guessed the neighborhood is quite rural. There are typically miles between homes and other than a yurt on the property there are no close neighbors.

My work: Building/design/art
Fun fact: Rowed 280 miles down the Grand Canyon
I'm a Colorado native that enjoys exploring the many mountains, canyons and rivers this great state has to offer. I have been building unique and interesting spaces across Colorado for 20 years. Foremost I'm an artist but building has become my vehicle for creative expression. I enjoy taking a project start to finish and leaving my mark each step of the way. I respect all people and all points of view- so long as kindness and open minds prevail. I thrive on fresh air, nature, good food and wine. In the summer months you can find me mountain biking or river rafting. Winters mean snowboarding the dozen ski areas around us. But traveling has always been a passion, whether close to home or across the globe. I caught the travel bug long ago exploring with my parents and seven siblings. I have trekked through the Rockies, Andes and in between. I have gotten lost more than once. I like beaches, tides and gritty little mountain towns. For me it's all about the people and the places they live. How they survive and how they enjoy!
