We have rented to hundreds of guests at multiple locations over the years without a single complaint.
The misunderstanding is the result of Betsy’s failure to read the advertisement which specified a single guest using a shared bath. We recommended a larger room and private bath, but Betsy insisted on the shared bath for cost considerations. Betsy did inspect on move in, but never notified us of any problems throughout the weekend chatting amicably with myself and another Airbnb member who gave glowing reviews of the same shared bath. We have vendors, including maids on call, who if notified would have immediately corrected any perceived problem, but as Betsy will readily admit there was no communication of any problems. We are not mind readers and no accommodation was denied Betsy.
To avoid this problem in the future we ask Airbnb impose the $25 per night surcharge as specified in our ad and agreement for additional guests and require the guest make the perceived problem known to both Airbnb and the host immediately upon arrival so the host can take corrective action, if necessary.
