Welcome to our Little Beach House (Casita de la Playa)! We are situated in the best part of West Ocean City; you can literally just park your car out-front of the cottage & walk/cycle pretty much everywhere. You will love the luxurious touches & home-feel that we've created in our recently remodeled cottage, so after a fun day in the sun, you can come home & just relax. Book with us & you won't want to leave!

The space
You will instantly be able to breathe a sigh of relief when you come to our cottage, with our beachy design touches, bringing blues from the ocean and yellows from the sun throughout. After traveling internationally for several years, we found inspiration from the Mediterranean and tried to bring that here to you. You will find parking in front and you will pull up to see our huge front patio, where you can lounge in the sun or put the umbrella up to take a nap in the shade. The landscaping has been done professionally to bring pops of color all around. Don't forget your book, as our egg swing is the perfect place to cozy up and read a book. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine, where the solar lights will provide a relaxing ambiance. Don't worry about the bugs with our 2 Thermacells we provide to keep them at bay. And whenever you enter at night, you won’t have to worry about needing your own light, as the porch light comes on automatically at dusk. When you enter the casita, you will be blown away by how cute & clean it is. We poured so much love into this in order to provide the ultimate vacation home.

When you step in, you will smell relaxing essential oils diffusing, which you will be able to customize to your liking. You’ll see the fully-equipped kitchen to your right with Pfaltzgraff dishes, beautiful ocean blue pots & pans that you’ll fall in love with, along with anything you’d need to make a tasty dish with the brand new stainless steel appliances. Wait until you see the adorable Keurig, where you have coffee & tea K-cups at the ready to enjoy any time of day. The wall decor are actually trivets that you can pull off and use while you are whipping up something. You can wash up with natural Method brand hand & dish soaps in the mason jar containers by the sink.

Moving into the dining and living spaces, we have custom-made tables from a family in Bishopville, who make beautiful wood furniture. The very comfortable sofa is also a memory foam sleep-sofa, which has it's own pillows & Egyptian cotton sheets, so no one is drawing the short straw by sleeping on it. In the evening, enjoy a game of tic-tac-toe or get out the beach puzzle! There’s a 43” smart TV mounted on the wall that will tilt down for your viewing pleasure. We have 130+ cable channels, along with DVR & apps for streaming. Our fast WiFi supports up to 8 devices at one time. We have an easy & quick ductless unit for AC & heating to your comfort.

After a long day at the beach, you’ll want to relax into our super comfortable beds. We have Egyptian cotton sheets that you can slip right into and various pillow types of your choice to get the best night’s sleep. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom, along with a portable fan for extra air flow. We offer a queen bed & a full bed, both with plenty of blankets to snuggle up in. You’ll be able to easily unpack with our luggage racks in each room and hangers in each closet. The full bedroom has a washer & dryer with detergent pods provided, so you can freshen up clothes whenever you’d like. Every room is also equipped with dimmable night lights that come on automatically in the evening, so you won't risk tripping on anything and can easily find your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The bathroom has a beautiful granite countertop at the sink with upgraded lighting. You’ll find very nice spa shampoo, conditioner & body wash in the shower, that you can feel free to use. The ocean blue towels are super soft to the touch, but also highly absorbent.

If you decide to partake in the Maryland tradition of eating crabs, feel free to enjoy them out on our picnic table out back. You’ll also see the 4 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas & 2 boogie boards there, too. After eating, if you want to work the calories off, jump on our 2 Margaritaville cruisers (bottle opener included & basket) and cruise around town, watching a picturesque sunset from the marina.

We are less than a 15 minute walk to some of the best restaurants, the marina for fishing tournament weigh-ins & charters AND the beach; while still being in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. A 2 mile cycle or walk, you'll find yourself at the famous OC boardwalk! We are about a 10 minute drive to the charming small town of Berlin, where Runaway Bride was filmed and the same distance will take you to the beautiful island of Assateague, where you can see the wild ponies (at a distance, of course). You cannot beat the location of our cottage and we will provide so many suggestions of our favorite places in order for you to have the best time. You will absolutely love your stay at Casita de la Playa! We are looking forward to having you!

Where you’ll be

Ocean City, Maryland, United States

Our neighborhood is quaint & quiet. Our cottage is the perfect location to be close to everything, but not completely in it, where you have to worry about having some peace & quiet, too. There are many families that live here, so we do ask that you be respectful of keeping quiet and driving slowly, as there are children around. That being said, there are quiet hours at 10pm. We don't allow any parties and will only rent to guests 25 years or older. Also, we are sorry to say we can't allow any pets. We love our furry family members, but we just aren't able to accommodate here.

We have so many recommendations of places nearby, but the closest is a bar & grill pretty much at the top of the street (Full Moon Saloon), so like a couple minute walk, that would be a super close & easy place to grab a bite to eat. But as we said previously, there are so many great restaurants & bars within walking & biking distance, so you really won't need to drive unless you want to.

Stinky Beach is the closest beach (it’s not actually stinky lol, Homer Gudelsky Park on the map, a locals’ spot, which is about a 15 minute walk, 4 min cycle or 2 min drive. It's a really neat spot that mostly locals know about. It's picturesque with the OC boardwalk just over the bay and you can see Assateague from it, as well. If you get there early enough, parking is free, otherwise, you can pay to park on the nearby lawns.

Then, if you wanted to go to OC beach, it’s 2 miles away, so say a 40 min walk, 10 min cycle or a 5 min drive (if no traffic). There’s paid parking all over the place or you can find free parking on the bay side. You can also walk about 10 mins to the park and ride or drive 3 mins to it, park for free, and then take the shuttle over to OC beach for I think, $1-$3 depending on if it’s a holiday or not. So that’s a great option, too, then you don’t have to deal with parking.

Then there’s the beautiful parks of Assateague. It’s about a 10 min drive away and you would have to drive. The earlier you get there the better because they do only allow a limited number of people on the island at once, but once you get through, you are guaranteed a parking spot, so that’s not a worry. There is a state and National park there, so fees vary, but it’s totally worth it as it’s gorgeous there and you’ll love the wild ponies! If you think you’d go there the whole week, the National park offers a vehicle pass for $25 which is good for 7 days, a really good deal! Whereas, I think the state park is $5/person/day.

Getting groceries is very convenient with the store being 0.5 miles away. The Outlets are just across route 50, less than a mile away. So if you got a little too much sun and want to do some shopping, you have that option.

I am a full-time international pet-sitter, originally from Maryland, where I spend my summers, but have lived in Florida a lot of my adult life. My partner of 10+ years & I have been full-time international nomads for 3+ years now and we don't see us stopping anytime soon. My mom and I actually have an Airbnb of our own in a cute beach town, where my parents reside. I am used to anticipating others’ needs from being a nurse for over a decade & being a house-sitter. I’m very detail-oriented and a perfectionist. I know what I like when traveling and strive to provide that same experience to my guest. I really enjoy meeting people through Airbnb and when traveling, learning more about the local culture of that area.

We are, of course, available at anytime to respond by a message or phone call to our guests. We also live less than a mile away from our beach cottage, so we can easily pop over if anything arises. We do have keyless entry, so anytime from 4pm on they can let themselves in with the code we provide. If guests choose not to see us, that is totally fine, but if they'd like us to swing by, we most certainly can!
