Description of the Ohana. Entire upstairs unit, large space (over 500sq. ft. ). The outside kitchenette located on the covered lanai was designed specifically so you wouldn't be looking at a kitchen in your studio. This makes the studio much more spacious than other studios you'll find with an interior kitchen. You'll have your own private driveway and entrance. Landscaped drive with arika palms leading to a landing with 6 steps to the upstairs lanai and room. You will be our only guests, there is no interaction with shared spaces. The spacious bathroom is attached to the room. The studio is in the upper rear of the home away from our rooms. The lanai has a magnificent view of the ocean, natural mango wood custom table, and a beautiful terracotta deck. On the covered lanai is a simple cooking facility with a small refrigerator, as well as a hot plate, toaster, coffee and pots and pans for cooking. The spacious living area (525 sq ft.) ... little hard to tell by the pictures. Most guests are pleasantly surprised. Hand made custom mango tables, new maple laminate flooring, flat screen tv with all channels including HBO and Showtime. Guide maps provided. Large chest of drawers with plenty of room for your clothes and plenty of space on top to place luggage and personal items, as well as a very comfortable king size bed. Fresh linens, bath and beach towels provided. The attached bathroom has a large Jacuzzi tub with shower attachment. It is Hawaiian tradition to remove our shoes before entering a home. If you are not comfortable barefoot you may want to pack slippers.

Do you enjoy experiencing green, natural life styles and like to get away from it all and still close enough to drive back in from all locations of the island? Something to ponder and help you decide what kind of experience you have in mind for your Maui vacation. * No additional charges....Taxes included*.

Great location and easy distance to the Maui country lifestyle. Nancy was super awesome with communication and John was very nice when we met him. As other people have mentioned, if mosquitoes like you, bring bug spray! Otherwise enjoy watching the geckos munch on them.

Nancy has a lovely home with beautiful ocean views. She was readily available and made sure we didn't need anything.

Nancy's place is the perfect location to stay before going on the road to Hana. It was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed the lanai - the views were pretty. Mahalo :)

A good location for driving the road to Hana, comfortable bed, lovely view from back of house and satellite tv was a nice touch. A bit of a rugged stay, you need to drive out to find beach and shops. The road to the house can be a bit confusing and narrow (be sure to have a map or gps). Lots of mosquitos, lizards and ants so do bring bug spray. Cow on property, which moo-ed continually, which was a bit distressing. John and Nancy left a detailed list of working things (light switches) but there was little to no face to face interaction with hosts. That being said, the road to Hana was beautiful and well worth the drive!

Response from Nancy:
In response to Mallory, The drive from our house to the beach and shops is simple. You drive up our street to Hana Hwy. The drive is really pretty. If you turn right you'll find beaches and shops. Turn left takes you to Hana. Our road is paved, narrow in some spots. Drive slowly while enjoying the road. It's really beautiful. Ocean views, flowers, Palms, friendly people. I do send detailed directions where to park and how to enter the unit the day before check in. Message me if you need further instructions. You may or may not see a cow on the 4 acre property. If it moos call me. The mosquitos are usually not a problem unless we don't have trade winds blowing, which is rare. We are cognizant of no standing Water and foliage near the house. You may encounter more if you go to Hana. I recommend a light weight longs sleeves and pants for hiking. The lizards are may or may not see one. My biggest hope is for all to enjoy your stay here and that's what I strive for. Please feel comfortable to approach me with anything to make your stay a happy one. Aloha!

*Weather today, Haiku: low 80's.. light/moderate trade winds
^^^Another beautiful Maui day
* Twin Falls. Beautiful flowers, trees and ferns to enjoy. Nice walk to waterfalls. Its great if you're not able to get to Hana. Just a couple miles from us. I was there this week and the waterfalls are really great right now. The pools felt so refreshing on a warm day. There is a fruit stand makes great pineapple and coconut smoothies.
* Halehaku bay aka: Pilali bay is located at the end of our road!! There is a lookout and a hiking trail to the bay. This is an "off the beaten track bay". So far this gem hasn't been discovered by the masses. Summer is the best time for swimming and diving.
* Going to Hana? Be sure to go to Hamoa beach! Great for swimming in crystal clear water.
* I highly recommend the Al'i Nui boat cruise. I recently did a 3hr snorkel trip. The catamaran is brand new, the staff and service is impeccable. Super fun and safe diving.
* Honeymooners! Discover the perfect Hawaiian island (or two) for your honeymoon. Head to health centered Maui for the wellness-obssessed...daily yoga classes paddleboarding, hike Haleakala crater, pilates, spend the night in Hana and eat locally sourced food
