Great 4 season cabin within walking distance (5-7 min walk) to access on Lake Margrethe (1920 acre lake). Nearby boat launch. ORV & SNOWMOBILE trails right out your door! Ski, hike, bike, snowshoe, XC ski, fish, hunt, kayak, canoe, golf, board, bird or just RELAX! Hanson Hills Recreation Park 5 min away. Located btwn the Manistee and Ausable Rivers. Lots of up north charm w/all the comforts of home. WiFi, large deck, grill, fire pit, kids play area and plenty of parking for all of your toys.

The space
Enjoy sitting on the deck with your coffee, while listening to the birds; and at night, you will enjoy star gazing by the fire pit. Relax watching TV, reading, scrolling (yes, we have WiFi) or listening to music on the stereo. Explore all there is to do in the area and then return to your cozy cabin to relax in the evening. Located on a secluded road end, which allows for privacy. This cottage is set up with all the conveniences of home. Rental includes towels, bedding, kitchen supplies, etc. for a comfortable getaway.

Guests have access to the entire house and yard.

Large deck with a grill and fire pit in the the backyard. Outdoor furniture also available (**Please Note: Outdoor amenities such as furniture and propane for grill available May-September only).

Hanson Hills Recreation Park is a 5 minute drive from the cabin and offers hiking, mountain biking, skiing (both downhill and XC) and snow tubing.

Hartwick Pines State Park is very close by and offers scheduled events and activities year round. Enjoy the museum, gift shop, mountain bike, XC, hiking and snowshoe trails, picnic areas, bird watching, hunting and fishing. Trails include: Weary Legs (trail length 7.5 mi) - Hiking, Snowshoeing, Mountain Biking, XC Skiing; Deer Run Trail (trail length 5 mi) - Hiking, Snowshoeing, Mountain Biking, XC skiing; AuSable Trail (trail length 3 mi) - Hiking, Snowshoeing, XC skiing. Northbound Outfitters rents snow shoes.

Other places of interest nearby include: Many breweries, restaurants and shops; as well as several golf courses in the Gaylord area: Marsh Ridge, The Loon Golf Club, The Ostego Club/The Tribute, Treetops Resort Premier Golf Course and Michaywe.

Bring your poles! Walk down to the lake to cast a line or take a short drive to the river. Great fishing can be enjoyed by walking a short distance right down the trail to Lake Margrethe; or on the Au Sable or Manistee River a short drive to the public access points.

Or, if you're feeling more adventurous, the cabin is centrally located in the northern part of the lower peninsula for easy day trips to Traverse City, Mackinac Island and Charlevoix. Gaylord, Higgins Lake and Houghton Lake also a short drive away. And for more skiing adventures check out Treetops (Gaylord), Shanty Creek, Nubs Nob and Boyne - all just a short drive.

Pets are welcome (Limit 2) and will love walking on the trails and/or watching the wildlife. No breed restrictions, but there are other dogs at nearby houses. Dogs MUST be picked up after, please.

Where you’ll be

Grayling, Michigan, United States

Winter: Snowmobile from the front door to the trails! Short drive to trailhead if that is what you prefer.

Summer: Take a short two block walk to the lake. Enjoy the lake during the day and a cookout and fire at night minus the wind. Boat launch is a very short drive.

Fall: The colors are beautiful here as Crawford County is known for its acres and acres of State land. Hunting is very popular in the area.

Spring: Go mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking or hunting for morel mushrooms.
