Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Stay in a traditional Highland crofter's cottage in the most westerly village on mainland UK, on the wild, beautiful and magical Ardnamurchan peninsula, one of Scotland’s last unspoilt wildernesses.

Situated in the remote crofting township of Kilchoan, the cottage boasts stunning panoramic views across the Sound of Mull. Watch spectacular sunrises, explore the rugged coastline and wild country on your doorstep, or take a flask to the small beach on the shore of the croft, and soak in the view.

The space
Burnbank provides comfortable, simply furnished accomodation on two floors.

It has three bedrooms - a double downstairs and two singles upstairs, perfect for a family or a couple. Bedrooms are simply furnished and equipped with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedding and towels are supplied.

There is one bathroom, located downstairs and is equipped with a walk-in shower, sink and WC. There is also an additional WC, also downstairs. A comfortable living area boasts a woodburner, television with built in dvd player, sofa and two armchairs, and a well equipped and spacious kitchen contains an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, a dining table and 4 chairs. There is heating throughout.

Electricity, bed linen, towels and a basket of logs for multi-fuel burner to get you started. Travel cot and highchair available on request.

An enclosed front garden boasts views over The Sound of Mull, with a small backyard, ideal for drying clothes.

Where you’ll be

Kilchoan, Scotland, United Kingdom

Enjoy spectacular beaches, fishing, hiking and water sports, and explore the stunning nearby islands.

A 15 minute drive across a 65 million year old extinct volcano takes you to a choice of stunning beaches at Sanna, with pristine white sand and turquoise sea, where you can take an invigorating dip, enjoy a picnic, laze in the sun, collect sea shells or go rock-pooling.

Head to Ardnamurchan Lighthouse (7 miles), and soak in the expansive views across to the Outer Hebrides and the Small Isles. Explore the many fascinating archaeological sites including cleared settlements, Neolithic cairns, Bronze Age standing stones and the sites of Iron Age coastal forts.

The remoteness of the area means there is abundant wildlife, so bring your binos, and keep your eyes peeled for magnificent white tailed eagles (also known as sea eagles or fishing eagles), seals, sea otters, dolphins, porpoises and the odd minke whale, as well as deer, pine martens and maybe even a Scottish wildcat, if you’re lucky. If you're really lucky, you might get to see John Coe and Aquarius, the last of the west coast pod of orca / killer whales.
