This is a small A-frame cabin in the woods off Highway 28. It will eventually be the bunkie for the larger A-frame that we're planning to build in starting Spring 2021.

The property is not huge by any means (1.26ac) but we love the river and the wildlife in the surrounding areas.

It's located right in between Petroglyphs Provincial Park (to the east) and the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park (across the road to the west). There are many hikes to do all year round!

The space
This is a tiny off-grid a-frame cabin that I built with my fiance through the summer of 2019. This is the first cabin that we built, but it won't be the last!

Where you’ll be

Apsley, Ontario, Canada

The small town of Apsley is located about 10km north on highway 28. There you'll find LCBO, Home Hardware and two convenience stores. Unfortunately the grocery store in the town recently burned down but there are other grocery stores in Lakefield.

Our property is also sandwiched between Kawartha Highlands and Petroglyphs Provincial Parks. There are a number of great trails for hiking (even in the winter) that I can share with you. Kawartha Nordic Ski Club has 50km of ski trails, 9km of snowshoe trails, and is 5 minutes south ofthe property.

During your stay

Happy to be there for your arrival to give some tips on recreation etc. Also, If you want, I can arrange to have a fire started in the cabin upon your arrival. I think some people like to do these things themselves (I am one of them) but I also know some people don't care and just want to be warm (my fiance is one of them).
