Our beautiful rustic guest house cabin is the perfect couples or family getaway or just a great place to stop in for the night. Sit out on the porch and watch the deer. Play games, sit by the fireplace and read a book. Go fishing, enjoy the paddle boats or just rest and relax. Located just off of I65 outside the historical little town of Franklin, KY. We are located between Nashville (45min), Bowling Green (35min) and Mammoth Cave (55 min).

The space
This little cabin is the guest house on our property that we have recently remodeled into a beautiful getaway perfect for any couple or small family. It is a one bedroom one bath cabin that has been decorated with interesting and unique antiques (all of them are kid friendly). The living room is a decent size with a very comfortable full size leather couch and a futon that can be made out into an additional bed (linens provided). There is an antique piano that you are welcome to play although it is very out of tune (works as the tv stand now). But, there is a record player with a number of old records to play. The bedroom is large and consists of a queen size bed. The bedroom also has a fireplace and an ottoman chair to curl up with some hot coffee and a good book. There is a full kitchen with a full set of dishes, pots and pans to prepare any kind of meal. There is also a laundry room to help with those longer stays.

Things to do:

Franklin (15-20 minute drive) This historical little town has lots to offer. There are a number of great antique stores, little shops and restaurants. Down on the town square every Thursday night all the locals gather with their antique hot rods where you can go and see them. Then on Friday nights there is a live free concert on the courthouse lawn. Or go to the drive in theater and watch a double feature. One night, head over to the Kentucky Downs and watch a horse race.

Nashville (45 minute drive) is the capital of Tennessee and home to Vanderbilt University. Legendary country music venues include the Grand Ole Opry House, home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and historic Ryman Auditorium are Downtown, as is the District, featuring honky-tonks with live music and the Johnny Cash Museum, celebrating the singer's life.

Bowling Green (30 minute drive) Home of the National Corvette Museum which features many cars, including classics and prototypes. On the outskirts for town, Beech Bend Raceway stages drag races. The Kentucky Museum has exhibits on state history, including one about the Civil War. Riverview at Hobson Grove is a restored 1800s house and museum. The Lost River Cave has a large cavern accessible by boat.

Mammoth Cave National Park (55 minute drive) is the longest recorded cave system in the world with more than 400 miles explored and mapped. Admission to the national park is free. A fee is charged for camping and cave tours. Activities include cave tours, hiking, horseback riding, biking, picnicking, camping, backcountry camping, canoeing, fishing, and some of the most pleasurable driving in Kentucky. Mammoth Cave National Park's overnight accommodations include campgrounds and hotel facilities.

During your stay
There is a tiny house at the other end of the property that is also listed on AirBnB. My brother in law and sister live in the big house at the end of the driveway and take care of our property. Down by the pond there is a little cabin that my parents live in. They keep to themselves and will respect your privacy. You may see them sitting on their porch or sitting down by the pond at times. They will say hi and chat with you if you engage them. They will help you with anything you have need of. This is a large property, and in order to keep it looking beautiful you may see or hear maintenance being done at times especially in the summer time.
