Escape to our secluded off grid log cabin with modern amenities. The Hideout is nestled on our maple covered private 73 acre property which borders the Hiawatha National Forest. Explore private trails, take a hot shower and fall into a cozy comfortable bed. Only 30 minutes to Munising and Pictured Rocks or an hour to Eben Ice Caves. Remote even by UP standards but with hot water and modern amenities. All well behaved dogs are welcome!

The space
We fell in love with this property the first time we viewed it. It's remote, private, serene and the views are breathtaking. The property has maple covered hills, hemlock forest, swamp, marsh and islands. The Northern Boreal forest is pristine and untouched by the industrialized world. This is truly a place you can escape.

The log cabin was built with spruce and cedar logs sourced directly from the property that it is located on. The log cabin is cozy and while off grid, offers hot water, propane gas lights and gorgeous views of nature. You won't want to leave.

It features an open living room, dining room, full kitchen, modern bath and two bedrooms each with a comfortable queen bed with fresh sheets and cozy heritage brand wool blankets.

The kitchen has a propane 4 burner cook stove with an oven, propane refrigerator, propane heated water and all the supplies you need to make any meal.

The full bath features a pedestal sink, full bathtub with shower and indoor potty. You'll have all the hot water you need thanks to the propane powered water heater.

The living room is set up for casual comfort to relax in after your adventures. During winter drink hot cocoa and warm up by the wood stove nestled in a massive stone hearth. During the warm months open the windows and relax while bird watching or reading one of the many specially curated books.

Electricity is only needed for the water pump and is effortlessly accessed from inside the cabin by the simple push of a button to start the fuel efficient and quiet generator.

The outdoor fire pit is a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores under the stars. A couple of local boys run a camp wood stand that's located right at the property so you'll have access to all the camp wood you want.

We spray down all surfaces in the cabin with a disinfectant solution and take the necessary precautions to ensure your safety.

We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Dogs cannot be left in the cabin unattended and are not allowed on the furniture. If you would like to leave your pet in the cabin while you're out exploring, you may do so if they are in a crate. Bring your own or let us know if you would like us to provide a sanitized kennel for an additional fee.

Where you’ll be

Au Train Township, Michigan, United States

This area is remote even by UP standards. There are only a handful of year round residents in the area. The property is located down an adventurous road 2 miles off of pavement. There are 73 private acres for you to roam, you likely won't hear or see anybody while you're here.

Munising is a 30 minute drive and has beautiful lake Superior views, great restaurants and shops. Pictured Rocks, Eben Ice Caves, Kitch-iti-Kipi and thousands of miles of hiking and snowmobile trails are not far away.

Snowmobile trail UP7 is accessible only a few miles down CR 440.
