I cannot imagine there is a better host in the Cape area! I have made a friend for life in Viv, she is hospitable, warm and can look after people of all personalities. She is a kind, generous person and I would advise anyone who is looking to stay in Muizenberg to not hesitate but to book at VIv's place - you will not regret it. Furthermore, the place is homely, clean and organised - also ideally located, being two minutes walk to the most beautiful beach and a further few minutes walk to the local train station that will take you to Cape Town or the other beach resorts along the coast. I cannot recommend this place enough if you like your stays to be relaxed, homely and a host that you can ask for advice about anything, whether it is how to get to a certain place or advice on life! Thank you Viv.

For me, Viv shares the original Airbnb spirit – living in the same house as she does, I really felt welcome and had an amazing time in Muizenberg which I enjoyed a lot. The house is simply amazing, there is everything you need. Share your stories in the common living room, cook something special in the lovely kitchen or take some time for yourself in your private room. If you like surfing, running, bouldering or any other outdoor activities you're in the right place if you chose Muizenberg as your spot. And of course I'd always chose Viv's place again. Pleasure!

Viv is a very great woman – from the inside and the outside. She helped me with every question, was very patience, friendly, open-minded und cheerful. Viv's house is very comfortable, clean and very nice furnished. I really felt like home, could connect to other guests or have private time.

I highly recommend Viv's place! I have stayed in many places around the world and this was by far the most enjoyable. Not because it was super fancy but because of the wonderful warm atmosphere set up by Viv. She is an incredibly helpful and a truly genuine person.

Staying at Silver court in Muizenberg was great. The place is quite unique: artistic, peaceful and has plenty of hobbies for everyone. I enjoyed Muizenberg and Cape Town very much thanks to the other guests here coming from all around the world, and, our lovely and wonderful host Viv. Well done Viv!

I am in my 60s, happy, busy and free-spirited. My dog is my favourite friend and all-time companion. I deeply love and am proud of my two strong, beautiful daughters both in their 20s. I love mountaineering, hiking, surfing and pottering around at home. I have a passion for Rock Art and have spent years exploring the shelters in the Western Cape, finding paintings and artefacts. I am a keen botaniser and know and love the "fynbos" biome around me. I’m happiest in the mountains, hiking, climbing, camping or walking my dog on a path.

B-i-i-i-ig things in my life have been the birth of my daughters, climbing a 6000m peak in Peru, crossing the Atlantic in a yacht and being temporarily struck down by a neural disease. However, I constantly find wonder and amazement in the small things in life - watching my plants grow, listening to my pug snore, riding a glistening early morning wave, coming across an interesting shaped rock on my walks, listening to great young jazz musicians and their South African flavoured compositions...

I listen to a lot of music, especially jazz and have evolving current favourites. I am prepared to listen to any music if it pushes some boundaries or is daring or is beautiful and gives me gooseflesh.

When I read, I like non-fiction. "A Short History of Nearly Everything" reminds me that I am made of stardust and that I come from a long line of surviving ancestors, so I'd better be thankful for being given life as a human! But "Life of Pi" taught me that life is what you make of it, especially when it comes to survival. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" taught me that there are many different ways to view and experience life.

My philosophy in life is to care for the earth and be aware of my footprint. I have grown an indigenous garden from nothing, planted many trees and grown some of my own veggies.

My special gift to travellers would be to expose those interested, in a responsible way, to the amazing paintings, some thousands of years old, hidden in the rock shelters of the Western Cape. Not many people have access to these sites. I have a slide show and video of the San or bushman "trance dance" which I show under the canopy of the southern starlit sky before we go into the field and explore. Please note though, that this is a field trip which requires some planning and at least 4 days away from Cape Town.

My other special gift is what nature provides five minutes from my house - a lovely beach and surf break - and I can introduce someone to surfing!

I'm happy to host just about anyone but particularly like people who are enthusiastic and thirsty for experience. I realise that at times that my home needs to be a quiet place for someone to recharge their batteries, so lying in the sun in a hammock or snuggling up in a cosy bed for days is also cool with me.
