My husband and I stayed at this property at our final destination in Ecuador. We wanted someplace quiet and safe, but accessible to the hustle and bustle of more touristy sections of the beach. The property is absolutely stunning! From the hammocks on the palm trees, to the saltwater pool/spa, to the boathouse with bicycles/boogieboard/kayak (which we were invited to use), to the outdoor kitchen area where we were served a delicious breakfast each morning, to the adorable casitas, to the good wi-fi, to the mini-fridge and safe in our room, to our extremely comfortable bed with a million dollar view, to the modern/upscale furnishings and linens -- it completely exceeded our expectations (especially in comparison to the other places we had stayed prior to arriving in Las Nuñez). It is very easy to catch a bus to Olón or Montañita (10-20 minute ride, respectively). You just stand in front of the property and stick your hand out at the next blue or green bus that is heading south (cost = 50 cents per person). Getting to the property from those towns is a LITTLE trickier. You get on any blue or green bus heading north on Rue de Spondylus (the main road up the coast) and when you start seeing the large property numbers on the left, you ask the driver to stop at/near the address. The bus is usually going pretty fast by that stretch so you have to get the driver prepared. The owners will explain it to you and you will have no trouble (I don't know if they want me to reveal the address here). You can also take a taxi to/from town for about $3-4 each way, depending on what time of day. The house is RIGHT on the beach, and it is practically a private beach since this part of town is only private residences, so strangers don't really have a reason to walk by. The hosts were SO gracious and we got to spend quite a bit of time talking with the lady of the house. Such interesting and admirable people! Lastly, I will point out that this house feels VERY secure. It is in an upscale part of town, is privately gated, and has a caretaker living on the property so you are never far from someone if you need help with anything. I truly have nothing negative to say and I believe it was money well spent!
