This place is very special! Great location, right on the water. The cottage is comfortable and cozy, with lovely views all around. The stair to the loft bedroom is steep and a little tough for older folks anyone with a disability, but the sofa beds downstairs are super comfy (firm and easy to operate, unlike any I’ve encountered before!). The kitchen is well appointed and equipped for cooking, though there is no microwave if you care about such things. Nice touches like staples in the fridge such as jam and mustard, and olive oil, tea and coffee are provided. There’s a charcoal bbq and a lovely hot tub on the deck! The host was very communicative ahead of time and the instructions were very clear. It’s worth noting that the nearest real grocery store is about 9 miles away in Point Reyes Station, so plan ahead with food for arrival. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place.

The view is truly beautiful. Literally right on the water in a rather secluded area. We were amazed at how peaceful it felt and how quiet it was. The hot tub at sunset was breathtaking. We enjoyed exploring surrounding areas like Nick's cove and the tiny town of Tamales. In the morning there were tidepools steps from the house. There is no AC and it can get a little hot from early to late afternoon. The morning and evenings had fog and cool breeze.

Five years ago today my husband and I had our mini-moon here after our wedding. We just returned from a weeklong long getaway to the cottage and are pleased to see its even more wonderful than it was back then. The cottage continues to be a magical place with its location right on the bay and charming decor. This year, we had our two and a half year old with us and so we especially appreciated the various sleep options - the loft bedroom (very comfy bed!) and the two downstairs fold out couches. Lori, the Property Manager, was exceptionally responsive and accommodating with certain requests we had. She's a total gem. Tip: If you have little ones - consider packing sand toys and folding chairs for the beach. In late September, the tide was out exposing sand from about 4pm until 11am. Otherwise the tide is in and the beach isn't available. Visit Palace Market in Point Reyes Station for groceries before heading to the cottage if coming from the south/east. It's a bit of a windy road between the cottage and the Station and especially if you have passengers prone to car sickness, you will want to take care of that first. We enjoy the Marshall Store for oysters over Hog Island. Consider trying them out if you haven't. There are lots of places for wine tasting in the area. :)
