Intimate, authentic and secluded...welcome to larapuna Bush Haven. For that special night away, weekend with loved ones or time out alone, you have found what you were seeking. With a tastefully appointed suite, practical yet unique spaces to cook, dine and relax in, & a lovingly prepared breakfast of homemade treats all in the midst of 30ha of private bush...feel your heart rate slowing already. This is larapuna. Whether you bike, fish, hike, wander or ponder, you are in the right place.

The space
The first Tasmanians - the palawa - knew this land as larapuna. A place of sparkling azure waters, of isolated white-sand beaches contrasted against the vibrant burnt-orange lichens encrusting the coastal geology, of coastal eucalypt forest flowing from the hills to the coast and home to an array of native birds and mammals.
For these people, larapuna was a special place. For us, larapuna Bush Haven is a special place. We hope for you, it will be a special place too….

The Property
larapuna Bush Haven offers a stunning backdrop to your planned trip to Tasmania’s renowned East Coast. Overlooking the Bay of Fires with sweeping vistas through to Eddystone Point, yet tucked away snugly in the bush, this is the perfect place to call home whilst you explore this stunning coast and its surrounding hinterland. Set in the heart of 30 hectares of private native bush, larapuna Bush Haven awaits - a sanctuary of peace and serenity, yet a stone’s throw from all the gems of this region.
After a day grinding the gears in the St Helens Mountain Bike Park or walking the endless white sand beaches or sipping on Chardonnay and enjoying local oysters, retreat to your haven to fire up the bbq, take in the sunset or simply lay your head down on a comfy pillow. Or when done with the Bay of Fires Trail, all 42km from Blue Tier, ride straight from the trail end to your front door!
As you drive through the gate, you can let go of all your worldly concerns - you have arrived. The smell of the Eucalypts, the chirping of the native Green Rosella’s, the distant crashing of surf on the coast and the abundance of stars sparkling above will confirm it. We operate essentially off-grid: water is sourced from the clouds, our energy needs are largely met by our expansive solar array, our hot water warmed on our rooftop and our waste water returns to the local environment. We are also working diligently towards a “zero single-use plastic” goal for our guest services and ourselves and trust you appreciate the progress.

So now that you cannot say no to a stay at larapuna Bush Haven, let us introduce you to your accommodation and its amenities….

The Suite
Spotlessly clean, tastefully appointed without that dull “hotel room feel” and with attention to the small details, your Suite offers a cosy haven to retire to after a long day driving, exploring or recreating. Snuggle down in your super-comfortable Queen size bed, looking out over our expansive lawn and down to the dam fringed by bush with the blue waters of the Bay of Fires as the backdrop. You won’t have to wait too long to see some of our native feathered friends or at night, perhaps one of the furry locals. Keep your eyes peeled for our local owl too!
Wash off the dirt from your explorations or wash off the worries from your day, in your walk-in shower, before drying off with your luxurious towelling. Before you bathe though, take your pick of locally crafted soap, shampoo and conditioner bars from our unique, zero-plastic, bathroom platters. We exist in one of Tasmania’s more dry environments here in larapuna and rely on pure, unfettered cloud juice for all our water needs. Our tanks are sizeable, but the summers can be long and dry here. Please be mindful of your water use.
Please note that whilst your Suite primarily sleeps 2 persons, we will happily add a single trundle bed (for a small fee of $35) if you would prefer 2 beds, or for that special “third wheel.”

The Open Air Kitchen
We recognize that the limited local dining options might not appeal to everyone. We have brought our love of preparing one’s own food to you with the Open Air Kitchen - a unique space for cooking, relaxing, dining, bbq-ing or for just enjoying a hot chocolate with friends around the open fire (all fire-making stuff’s included.) With a designer BBQ, De’Longhi Espresso Coffee Machine, a fridge stocked with all the basics, a 2-burner cooktop and mini-oven, toaster, cookware and indoor or outdoor dining options, you have everything to make the perfect meal whatever the time of day. With home touches to ensure you have all you need whilst on holiday, this space is yours to eat in, drink in, relax in and be merry in, all with a stunning backdrop of the East Coast bush and the sparkling waters of larapuna.

The Bike Café
For bike nerds and well, nerds in general, we offer you The Bike Café - a space to enjoy your morning espresso on the sofa overlooking the dam, a space to tinker with your bike to be ready for your next ride or simply to charge your e-bike overnight. With its own De’Longhi Espresso Coffee Machine, some light reading material, a serious bike workstand with all the necessary tools to fix, repair or maintain your stead, this is the space you always wish you had! And for all you bike junkies - a bike wash-down station, complete with brushes and bike wash is provided.

We offer parking just metres from your door, all within our gated property.

Guest Access
This booking is for an entire Guest Suite and all that larapuna Bush Haven has to offer. The Suite is a private space with its own entrance, but is adjoined to a likewise suite.

The Open Air Kitchen and Bike Café are communal spaces, but only accessible to the very limited number of total guests at larapuna Bush Haven. Guest facilities including Suites, Open Air Kitchen and Bike Café are all on the ground level of the property.

The upper floor is our own private residence. Whilst we are generally around to ensure your stay is everything you are seeking (and hopefully just a little bit more!), to answer any questions and to prepare your sumptuous first meal of the day, we are a couple without children and without pets, living a quiet and peaceful existence here in larapuna. Whilst you may see us as we potter in the garden or move around the property, we are extremely mindful of this being your space also and wish to ensure that you have the privacy and solitude you deserve during your stay. Likewise, we hope you will enjoy the property peacefully.

The entire property - all 30 hectares - is yours to explore. Maybe take a moment to sit and watch the curious kookaburras, forest bathe through the Eucalypts, or throw the trail running shoes on and run some of our very own trails. It’s yours to enjoy.

Other Things to Note:

Complimentary Breakfast
It’s in the name - this is a BnB after all. We take real pleasure in offering you a complimentary breakfast including our very own homemade granola made with our secret recipe, toast, and a selection of condiments and preserves.
We will happily cater to gluten-free, nut-free, lactose-free, vegetarian and vegan dietary needs and will do our best to cater for any other dietary requirements, within reason, if advanced notice is provided.

Small Group Bookings
If you have a small group, there is the option to book the other suite also and thus have full run of the guest facilities at larapuna Bush Haven, offering privacy, yet ample shared common space to relax and enjoy that special time with family or friends.
