S/V Picante is a lovely sailing catamaran available for day and term charters around Tobago. She can also take you to Grenada and/or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Be the guests of Captain Markus!

The space
S/V Picante is available for Private Day Sail and Sunset Cruise in Tobago, Overnight Packages in Tobago (2, 3, 4, nights), Week Charter around Tobago, Sail to the Grenada and/or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Kitesurfing Safari from Tobago to the Grenadines, Carnival Specials and other Customized Charters.

S/V Picante is a Roger Simpson designed lightweight Catamaran, built (along with 3 others) in Trinidad. She is fast and safe, comfortable and easy to sail. She is an ideal cruising boat, very spacious with a large salon and cockpit and, of course, plenty of room to chill on the nets upfront. There are (2) two double guests cabins and (1) one single guest cabin. All cabins have extensive storage, including hanging lockers and wash-basins. The cabins are naturally ventilated – a special design feature allows air to blow through even in rain.

She is quick (speeds often exceed 10 knots) and, with her shallow draught, can anchor very close inshore to a beach – great for small children. Solar Panels and a Wind-Generator mean you rarely need to run the engine for battery power.

There’s a large galley – with fridge and chiller box and a separate freezer/cooler for drinks and ice. A barbecue hangs over the back of the cockpit – nice for grilling the fresh tuna/mahi-mahi/wahoo you just caught.

You can easily fit 8 people to eat around the saloon table, and there’s a large desk/chart-table area for computers and charging mobile phones or iPods (Wi-Fi is often available over the water in Caribbean anchorages). Mobile phone coverage is extensive – as in Europe.

There’s a an external shower point on the starboard side scoop, where a drop-down ladder makes it easy to get in and out of the water.

Picante is usually based in Tobago and her usual cruising area extends all the way up the S.E. Caribbean islands – Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent, St Lucia, Dominica, and the French Islands – Martinique & Guadeloupe. She can pick up guests easily at any of these, so there are a lot of options for flying in or out.

Markus is originally from Germany but spend most of the first pat of his working life teaching tennis in the South of France. His first boat was “donated” to him by an unlucky poker player. He sold it rather quickly to upgrade to the size yacht that would allow much more significant journey than bobbing around the Saint Tropez’ Bay. And one day, some twenty years ago, he casted the lines off, kept the Riviera to his back and after a few stops between Africa and Brazil, eventually dropped anchor in one of Tobago’s beautiful secluded bays... He since has been offering his services as Skipper to several charter companies in the region and he is now focusing on his new venture: S/V Picante. Markus loves to share his passion for sailing and the Sea: His knowledge and skills will be adapted to sailors of all levels. He is a fun loving person and a very patient teacher!
