Location

Bergün/Bravuogn, Graubünden, Switzerland

Preda sits in canton Graubünden, Switzerland, at the foot of the Albula pass in Ela Parc (Engadin is on the other side of the mountain).
The valley has warm sun from morning until late. Around the Sonnenhof property is nature; we counted 160 species of flowers in this nature habitat alone. The wetland provides stunning beauty. Only 3 minutes below the guesthouse is the Albula river, with its riverines, pine forests, larch trees, a biotop, and a fairytale-like easy hour walk around Sonnenhof. It is is a touching experience for customers and many find balance here.
In mid November the sun hides behind a mountain ridge until beginning January, but that is good so, or the famous Bergün-Preda sledging trail in winter would not exist, which begins only 3 minutes from the house.
In winter the sun still shines on the Muot range, making it not a valley of shade. Simply said most don't even notice.
Various hiking paths start in Preda, if easy or high tours all year round. If by foot, bicycle, vehicles, ski or snowshoes, there are options for all.
The famous UNESCO Rhb railway hiking path starts here, where you can walk amongst the viaducts of Europe's most famous Filisur-Preda train stretch. The Palpuognasee ist TV-voted Switzerland's most beautiful lake where trails lead you even higher into the mountains.
At the pass begin is a military bunker for view Sundays. A sulfur indoor-outdoor swimming pool in AlvaneauBad is a good-doer only 20 minutes away with the car. 10 minutes away is Bergün with its beautiful local Museum with Heidi room, Antiques, train models and more in a most beautiful Bündner building. The train museum is also a must for train lovers. A food shop, bank, 2 boutiques, a sport shop, hairdresser and a kiosk can be found there. In Samedan are larger stores an half an hour away with the car, 20 minutes with the train. We have even more recommendations. You may also contact Ela Parc in Tiefencastel or the Bergün-Filisur Tourism Office in Bergün/Bravuogn.
Here we are open all year.
