Where you’ll be

Carrowmore Lacken, County Mayo, Ireland

Kilcummin was the landing point of General Humbert in 1798.
The iconic film 'The Year of the French' was filmed here. The monastic sites of Moyne Abbey, Rosserk and Rathfran are all close by .
Our local bar, 'Bessie's Bar ', located by Kilcummin pier is within walking distance of the house. There are many lovely walking trails around Benwee Head and through the sand dunes along Kilcummin and Lacken strand. It's a great fishing area, with the local fishermen arriving to shore with fresh mackerel, lobster and crab.
Kilcummin is a very popular spot for fishing off the rocks, kayaking, diving and surfing as well as pier jumping! Downpatrick Head is just a short drive away along the coast . In Sept this year it hosts the Red Bull Challenge
