Stay in this genuine Vermont sugarhouse. Our family took great pride in making Maple Syrup and now we take that same pride in sharing this private piece of Vermont with you, our guests. There are trails that will take you through our 50 acre forest including the sugar bush we used for the sugarhouse. Relax in the quiet beauty of rural Vermont. Located near the geographical center of VT. We operate as part of Three Maples LLC.

The space
This is a chance to sleep in the area we spent many late nights making maple syrup. As you snuggle in under one of Sue's homemade quilts, with a little imagination you can hear the wood fire roaring, see the sap in a rolling boil as the steam evaporates off and the sap thickens. Let your mind drift and you may catch the sweet scent of maple as the sap slowly turns into sticky sweet maple syrup. The Sugarhouse is full of memories of family, friends, and hard but special work. There is a magic spirit of quiet peace here that nature brings to those who slow down to find it. I am grateful to sit quietly and feel the magic of maple, as I am sure you will too.

Where you’ll be

Royalton, Vermont, United States

This rural area of Vermont offers quiet beauty and yet in a few miles you can be in Woodstock or hiking the long trail. Silver lake state park with it's sandy beach and picnic area are minutes away. The Robert Frost walk is less than an hour away. Lots of great hiking, Long Trail, Camels Hump or right in your back yard on our trials. You will wake to the birds singing, maybe watch the Turkeys feeding in the field or an occasional deer drinking from the pond. Nature is alive and well here.

After years of making Maple Syrup, Sue and I, decided to turn our Sugar Shack into an airbnb. We built the original sugarhouse from lumber we milled on the land. When we decided to renovate the sugarhouse we wanted to use all natural wood from our own land. We logged, sawed, dried, milled and constructed using the wood from our mountain. There are five different species of wood you will see in the house. All quilts handmade by Sue. If it's here, Sue and I made/built it and we are excited to share it with you.
