A PRIVATE cabin with easy access to crown land and Algonquin Park! There's 8 km of walking trails and horseback riding ON SITE, and many wonderful outdoor adventures close by! Kayaking, canoeing, hiking, swimming, fishing, birdwatching, atving, & beaches nearby! Price includes ALL taxes, Firewood for sale on site, and you're only 5 minutes from town. We have safe, easy to operate heat in the cabins, for spring/fall comfort. Cabin #1 booked? Search Cabin #2, 3 & 4, each one charming & private.

The space
Our cute 'off grid' cabin is on a crossroads between three main northern Tourism towns, is close to Algonquin Park, and is close to handy shopping (five minutes to Maynooth, 15 minutes to Bancroft). That means you can enjoy the wilderness, nestled in a private wilderness clearing - and still get to all the 'must see' spots without extensive driving. There's lots to do here, with sightseeing, wilderness trails, lakes, beaches, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater, atv'ing, and of course, your relaxing in your own slice of nature! These pretty cabins are tastefully decorated, with comfortable furniture, minimalized & wipeable for Covid safety. Cabin space is cozy, but maximized with a separate sleeping loft. There's solar lighting in the cabin & privvy, a big pressure treated deck, stainless steel bbq, a camp coffee pot, and an easy to operate, safe propane furnace for off season comfort. Each cabin has it's own PRIVATE (very clean) outdoor privvy, a rustic (but practical) outdoor shower spot for summer guests, and of course, a fire pit (and the first fire is free!) We have firewood for sale, horseback riding on site, and the cabins are super clean, and we double down on sanitation by using OZONE sterilization, for worry free renting. Each cabin is nestled in it's own private part of our forest, tucked away deep in the woods, with no neighbours in sight- so they are VERY private. It's a great way to get away from the stress of the city and still have a solid, safe place to stay! There's car access & parking at each cabin, so you can charge your phones & keep your gear handy. On a clear night, the stars will amaze you! So far, everyone is loving these cute cabins! Like to camp but want some perks? These cabins are perfect for GLAMPING! And although we are very hands off, we are easily reached for any help you might need! Come visit your own private piece of the wilderness around Algonquin Park!

PLEASE NOTE** In April, May, October and November there are important accessibility and heating related requirements. Please contact us by private message if you are booking during that time, so they can give you the information you will need to decide if a stay during that time is for you.

My husband Matt and I started our business, Highland Wilderness Tours, back in 2001. Since then we have grown to include fully guided Horseback Riding, Summer Horse Camps, March Break Dogsledding & Horseback Riding Camp, and Dogsledding and Snowmobile tours in winter. We have even done a nice little video you can see of our cabins (Website hidden by Airbnb) In 2020 we added rental cabins, each one completely private with no neighbours in sight, tucked into a corner of our wilderness property just outside Algonquin Park. To ensure you feel confident with renting our cabins, they are small, private and clean and sanitized using best practices for wipe downs, and using an ozone generator between customers (see below) We are on site, just a short walk or text if you need anything. There is a gorgeous crown land lake and amazing swimming, fishing and canoeing spot, just a short hike (or quick drive) from the cabins. We provide firewood at a reasonable cost. Each brand new pine cabin has a brand new outdoor toilet, cute and very clean and sanitized before your visit. Each cabin has big windows on each side, for viewing wildlife while drinking your morning coffee! Each is decorated tastefully with comfortable chairs, tables, and a queen bunkie bed over the living area. Outside is a deck, picnic table, and bbq with propane burner. There is a fire pit for campfires, and hiking trails right from the cabin. The cabins are off grid but have all the furnishings you'll need including solar lights. Just bring your sleeping bag and pillow, and cooking and eating supplies, it's glamping in style. We are close to Maynooth, five minutes to gas, liquor store, bank machine, and groceries. We are at a crossroads between Bancroft, Whitney, and Barry's Bay, just a short drive from the park. Being at a crossroads means we are literally at the four corners of paradise. Come visit us soon! We are hands on and will make sure your stay is a pleasant one. To ensure your cabin is pristine upon arrival, they are wiped down thoroughly with disinfecting materials, but we ALSO use Ozone sanitation, run between each booking, to kill all germs, odors, and yes, viruses! Ask if you would like to read more about this amazing technology. You'll be able to rent with confidence!

We gave allowing pets an honest try but it didn't work well, so very sorry, but we can no longer accept pets. If you have a very small dog you can inquire with management.
