Hallo.Wir sind Jan Reimitz und Babette Reimitz-Tropp.
Die Besitzer der 80 qm großen Wohnung in St.Gilgen am Wolfgangsee.
Das besondere dieser Unterkunft ist ihre Lage und das im original 70er Jahre Retrolook gehaltene Wohnambiente.
Es stehen ein Schlaf und Wohnzimmer,Küche,Bad und Toilette sowie ein schöner Balkon zur Verfügung.
Alle Bereiche der Wohnung sind sehr ruhig und ideal zur Erholung.
Internet gibt es kostenlos im Tourismusinformationsgebäude ca.10 Min zu Fuß von der Wohnung entfernt.

Getting there:
By bus:
Bus St.Gilgen Hollweger
Turn left to the Irlreithstraße up to the slope.On the right side of the street there is a stone sculpture (St Igidius) on the far right is the Tourismusinformationsgebäude.You following the Irlreithstraße up until you reach Laimstreet.Follow up all the way ahead .In Front there are the dumpsters, turn left up the stairs to the apartment or to the caretaker's house to grab the keys.

Please be noted when Check out:
-Garbage Please dispose (dumpsters are at the parking lot)
-Please deduct Linen and put the used towels on the bed

Key:
There are two keys (house and apartment door)
These are deposited at the housekeeper (Mr.Kranzinger) in the key safe at the entrance Irlreithstraße 19 (see photos attached)
Please deposit the Key at the same spot when you leave.

Handling of the safe:
Enter the code 642 and press OPEN. This will open the key safe.
Then press CLEAR once, the CODE 642 re-enter and push in again at the same time, then the safe is closed again.

Washing machine:
Located in the next building Irlreithstrasse 9a in the basement.

This was a good location and comfortable apartment as a base for days driving around the lakes and even for a day-trip to Salzburg. There is a very pleasant partial lake view from the balcony (although as we had wet cold weather we didn't use that at all) and the view is also visible from the dining table just inside from the balcony. On the other side of the apartment, the bedroom window looks out onto trees. For our first two nights the place was absolutely quiet at night . (We had the windows closed due to cold wet October weather so I don't know whether we would hear any noise with the windows open at night.) For the remaining nights (and mornings!) we could sometimes hear children from a neighbouring apartment. The kitchen is quite well set up and we made good use of it. It's a 10 minute walk down into town. We found (in early October) that there was a pretty limited selection of places open for dinner and I was glad we were not relying on eating out. There is a Spar supermarket at the bottom of the street (closer than the town). The towels smelled slightly musty (I did not notice this until my wife commented on it); once we used the laundry facilities there we concluded that this is probably because the dryer refused to dry the load completely so the towels might have been folded up while still slightly damp. The big disappointment for me was that our phone data plan was pretty useless. Knowing there is no wifi at the apartment we expected to provide our own hotspot and bought "3" network data plans for our Austria trip; this worked well enough in most places throughout Austria but in the apartment the situation was bad with just intermittent data connection. (Later on we discovered that it's a bit better sometimes if the phone is close to the dining room window.) We usually could not send email or even AirBnB messages to the host. I don't blame the host for this as the description just says that wifi is available at Tourist Info Centre, but this is definitley something to be aware of and for me personally this was a big deal as I had been expecting to study in the evenings for which I needed internet. And apart from making it difficult to do last-minute research for each day's activities, it was especially a problem because we found a couple of items in the English-language version of the instructions about the apartment were a bit hard to understand. (I recognise that when travelling in Austria I should be prepared to deal with German language instructions; so I'm just talking here about *my* experience.) So we had a bit of stress with not understanding the checkout instructions and I sent a message to the host on the last night, not knowing whether the message would get through in time for him to respond...

This is a gem of a place - a gorgeous view from the balcony. The apartment is quite spacious for a one bedroom with a lot of room to store your things. It is very comfortable and inviting. Quiet and secluded yet close to everything. Ample parking. The decor is dated yet it is homey and the place has every possible thing you could need with the exception of a microwave. The bed is very comfortable. For wi-fi, bring your own hotspot. Have breakfast on the balcony and do not miss the chance to enjoy the view after a storm!

Es waren alle Airbnb Angaben von Jan akkurat. Es war sauber, und ordentlich, sehr ruhig, allerdings war die Wohnung etwas abgeschotteter als erwartet. Alle Fragen wurden immer prompt per Mail beantwortet, durch die auschließlich virtuelle Interaktion fällt das persönliche Flair weg. Vielleicht ist unsere Meinung durch das Wetterpech etwas getrübt...

Die Wohnung ist sehr gut gelegen. Bei unserer Ankunft haben wir den Hausmeister angerufen, um den Schlüssel zu holen. Der Hausmeister war sehr zuvorkommend, vorallem nachdem es ein Missverständnis über unseren Ankunftstermin gab. Auch die Kommunikation mit Jan war sehr gut. Die für ein Pärchen geräumige Wohnung ist mit originalen Möbeln aus den 70ern eingerichtet, aber in sehr gutem Zustand - eine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit. Es war alles da, was wir brauchten. Auch die Küche ist gut mit Kochutensilien etc. ausgestattet. Beim Frühstück am Balkon hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf den Wolfgangsee! Auch für Wanderungen ist die Wohnung gut gelegen - bei der Haustür raus uns schon kanns los gehen. Zwecks Internet haben wir das mobile Datennetz unserer Handybetreiber genutzt: A1 hat eine sehr gute Netzabdeckung, aber mit Drei kommt man in St. Gilgen leider nicht weit. Alles in Allem können wir die Wohnung sehr empfehlen. Ein super Quartier zur Erkundung des Salzkammerguts!

Ich habe eine gemütliche, gut ausgestattete Wohnung in ruhiger Lage am Ortsrand von St. Gilgen vorgefunden. Der Gastgeber war sehr bemüht und immer erreichbar. Ich war mit den Angebot äußerst zufrieden.

Wir waren zusammen mit unserem Sohn (2) in Jans Wohnung und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, eine Touristeninfo und der Ortskern sind gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Obwohl kein Badewetter war, haben wir einiges unternehmen können. So ist man z.B. schnell in den Bergen (wir sind von der Postalm losgewandert) oder in einem der Nachbarorte am See. Überall findet man schöne Spazier- und Wanderwege. Und vor der Talstation der Zwölferhorn-Seilbahn im Ort gibts sogar kostenloses WLAN ;) Jan war schnell erreichbar, wenn wir eine Frage hatten, und der Hausmeister vor Ort war auch sehr nett.
