Set in a historic farm courtyard dating back to 1860, our lovely barn is entirely self contained yet adjacent to our Devon farmhouse near the sea. Newly converted with luxurious bed, pretty kitchen, roll top bath and cosy sitting room. Rural retreat!

The space

The barn is a lovely private space for a romantic break for two. It has it's own kitchen, bathroom with roll top bath, sitting room with wood burner, and kingsize bed with White Company bed linens and towels provided. There is a hot tub in the garden for guests to enjoy. The kitchen is well equipped with a mini dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, toaster, Nespresso machine, kettle etc.

Guest access

Guests have an entirely separate and private barn for exclusive use with it's own entrance up a flight of granite steps. The barn is all on first floor level. Outside, there are five acres of shared garden and also a shared utility room area downstairs with additional shower room, washing machine and dining area.

Interaction with guests

We leave guests entirely up to their own devices if they desire peace and relaxation. We are very happy and onsite to provide any suggestions for local eateries, day trips, beaches etc. should guests need us.

Other things to note

There is also a sofa bed in the barn which sleeps up to two children and we can provide a cot and baby equipment (e.g. high chair, age suitable toys) at no extra charge or little roll out beds and snuggle sacs for small guests. The barn is self catering, but we are happy to provide guests with a delicious breakfast hamper or a Riverford Organic provisions box at a charge of £30.

Perfects hosts, gorgeous accommodation, beautiful location. Nothing was too much trouble, we were given great advice and local knowledge from Lucia and Dan, and the little extras on arrival and when we were leaving were really thoughtful. We brought robes and flip flops for the hot tub as advised, which we highly recommend doing as it is a very short walk from the barn. Bring your walking boots/wellies as the surrounding countryside is definitely worth exploring. We had a lovely time here and would thoroughly recommend it.

A lovely hideaway but close to great beaches, superb walking and the delights of Salcombe, Dartmouth and Totnes. Great host too. Friendly, informative and helpful. Fantastic trip

Where to start? Fantastic communication, welcome and thoughtful touches upon arrival - the perfect refuge for exploring a beautiful part of the UK. One of the most unique and charming places we have stayed, and very kind hosts (even helping to jump start our car!) we will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Swallows flight!!! Lucy and Dan were so friendly and welcoming. The barn was just beautiful to stay in. It's the perfect place if you want to get lost in the countryside and forget all your worries. We particularly loved gazing at the stars from the hot tub. We can't wait to come back.

We visited in late October when the weather was particularly grey which encouraged us to spend more time relaxing - exactly what we wanted. The Barn has a lovely feel to it and the living and bedroom areas are very comfortable. We highly recommend using Lucia’s guide to the local area and visiting some of the places within it. You can’t go wrong with tried and tested restaurants, walks and pubs.

We stayed at Swallows' Flight for a belated anniversary trip and it was an absolutely fantastic place to stay. Amenities all great (e.g. Wifi, dishwasher) and the hot tub, secluded area and beautiful places to visit all added to the charm. Lucy was an excellent host and we felt like we could ask for help if needed easily. That being said, everything had been thought of so we didn't really need to. Lovely holiday and we would definitely return here. Thanks!
