The Eureka Dairy is a unique and luxurious space, nestled in the rolling hills of the Byron hinterland. Very private, with its own driveway and parking. Spectacular views, light filled spaces and the attention to detail and craftsmanship make it a unique space both inside and out. The dairy has been lovingly renovated and honours the heritage and character of the original building at the same time as creating a sense of luxury and comfort. A perfect weekend in the hills.

The space
The first thing you notice when you arrive are the breathtaking views from the deck and gardens out over the hills to the east towards Byron Bay and the west towards Lismore. Then you enter the house through the sliding glass doors and take in the unique style and beauty of the space.

The master bedroom leads out onto a small private deck and looks over towards the matriarch of the farm - a magnificent fig tree. The second 'bedroom' has an antique double brass bed and is a small space nestled in the middle of the house, between the master bedroom and the lounge (no door separates the second bedroom from the hallway). The polished concrete floors throughout give the space a feeling of warmth and the use of recycled / reclaimed timbers add to the uniqueness. Most of the timbers, windows, doors and fittings have been up-cycled from the original building or sourced locally.

Our kitchen / lounge is a unique blend of vibrant colourful wall boards matched with the earthiness of the timber counter and stone bench top. At the heart of the main space is the wood burning heater for those cold winter nights. The galley kitchen is fitted out with everything that you need to cook up a storm, including quality cookware, European appliances (dishwasher and freestanding gas oven and cooktop), and coffee machine.

The huge deck and eclectic interior just add to the feeling of comfort and space. The super sized deck is perfect for a morning coffee or an afternoon spritz and the outdoor bath (plumbed with hot and cold water) is a treat. The sunrises are sublime and the sunsets spectacular. The local wildlife will enjoy your company - the tiny finches at the window, the fruit doves in the sandpaper fig and the black cockatoos in the gum trees. You may even spy a wallaby bounding through the paddock. As well as the stars, at night you can see the glow of the Byron Lighthouse towards the hills in the east and the glow of the lights of Alstonville towards the west.

Where you’ll be

Eureka, New South Wales, Australia

Eureka is a quiet hamlet, 12 minutes to Bangalow, 5 minutes to Federal or Clunes and 25 minutes to Byron Bay. Bangalow is a local hub for shopping and dining out and is full of eclectic shops, cafes and restaurants and a fabulous pub and local Bowlo. Federal has the internationally acclaimed cafe Doma - some of the best Japanese food you will taste outside of Japan itself! Clunes has a great little local store, cafe, pizza joint and bottle shop.
Eltham has a fabulous pub/restaurant and it’s just 5 minutes past Clunes.
For a really special dining experience we recommend Frida’s Fields in Nashua for their incredible long table lunches. You need to book -

We are a family of 5 and have lived on our farm since 2010. We live in the main house which is about 100m away from the Dairy. Our 10 acres is our little piece of paradise.

During your stay

We live in the main house on the property (and are home or close-by if you need to contact us at all). The main house is approximately 100m from the dairy with shed and lots of native forest in between. We are very happy to pop down when you arrive to show you around but are equally as happy to just leave you to your own devices.
