Great location

Sundowner Cottage has been sited to give the best sunset view on the farm. The eland and springbok walking past complete the scene as you sit in a wood-fired hot tub, with the mountains behind you. About an hour and a half from Cape Town, near the Nuy valley, Amandalia farm is home to Saggy Stone Brewery and Restaurant as well as these unique A-frame wooden cottages

The space
During the course of 2018, a 22km game fence was completed so that the cottages are now part of the game reserve (hence the reason for no pets allowed). Abundant bird life, some blue wildebeest, black and copper springbok are amongst the wildlife that will be your fellow residents during your stay.
An open plan kitchen and living area extends onto a private wooden deck where you can sit with a cup of coffee and relax with beautiful mountain views which stretch for miles while listening to the sounds of busy birds flitting from bush to bush. Each cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 adults comfortably, with all the modern conveniences such as solar power, private braai and hot water and an extra bedroom with 2 single beds for minors.
A wood fired hot tub on the deck of the cottage is a perfect place to watch the stars and listen to the sounds of nature. Solitude cottage is neatly tucked away behind a hill away from the other 2 cottages

Small luxuries of tea/coffee/sugar/olive oil and balsamic vinegar are provided.

There is NO 240V power - the cottages only have 12V power with no plug points. There are 2 USB charging spots, and you can charge laptops and other devices at the restaurant, or pack in a power bank :)

2 bags of wood are supplied, as well as firelighters, braai grid and tongs.

Crisp white bedding and towels add a touch of luxury within the rustic farm landscape.

We do not take bookings for Sunday evenings so that weekend guests are able to enjoy the stay till late on a Sunday. Unfortunately, no day visitors allowed

Saggy Stone Pub is located on the farm which is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am till 4pm - beer tasting, pub lunches and pizzas make it a not-to-be-missed part of your stay

I am a friendly, energetic person who loves meeting new people. My husband, Adrian, and I run Saggy Stone Brewery and our family fruit farm in the Robertson valley. We love the outdoors and the solitude of Namibia when on holiday

During your stay

As often as you need me to be - it is self check in so we might catch each other at the restaurant or when we are feeding the game

In light of the Corona virus pandemic situation we have adopted the following protocols
* staff practice strict hygiene controls, sanitizing as they start work and throughout the day
* all bedding, towels and cloths are removed and washed after each guest
* all surfaces are treated with sanitizer between guests
* a spray bottle of sanitiser is provided in each cottage (we ask that guests do not remove it from the cottage)
* the cottages are far apart from each other and it is self check in so there is no contact with staff
* while we have implemented these procedures we encourage all guests to practice the same sanitation and hygiene to protect all future guests and staff
