Our beautifully renovated 1912 cottage is our favourite place to wind down, relax, socialize with family and friends and enjoy the nature. We have renovated the cottage whilst trying to keep its classic Finnish character, but update and modernize it. The building has all new plumbing and electric, the well water is tested and tastes wonderfully clean, fast WIFI broadband. The garden is quite mature and surrounded with very large trees and a large sunny lawn. All within an hour from Helsinki!

The space
The whole garden has a border fence so perfect for dogs who like to explore and to keep the deer from eating our strawberries! We quite often have see them from outside our window, along with many hare, squirrels and other animals. However, one of our favourite things about our cabin is the many bird species it attracts!
The lake is wonderful for swimming and really warms up in the summer as it is generally quite a shallow lake (5 meters at its deepest). Good fishing for perch and pike, 2 rods and tackle is provided.
If you want to use the hot tub, there is a hose nearby to fill it up and please follow the instructions. Also it's important that the water is drained before check out so that the water doesn't freeze and the cleaner can wash and rinse the tub for the next guest.

Other things to note
The hot tub will need filling from the nearby hose and then once it is full (about 30cm over the 2 holes which come from the stove) can it start to be heated. It takes approximately 4 hours to heat to a comfortable temperature. Please place the lid on when your not using it during your stay to keep the water warm and please remember to pull the wooden plug to release the water before you leave. If the water freezes in the tub it will break it.

If you are staying with a pet then please could you try to clean up any mess outside.
The paddle board and hanging tiipii tent are only for summer use.
Have a lovely stay!

Kettula is a quiet village but full of friendly people who all appreciate the beauty of the area. There are many walks which completely immerse yourself in the wild. You do also have some great places nearby such as; Kasvihuoneilmiö Cafe/Shop(5,5km)- A weird and wonderful shop with a huge range of gifts, garden, furniture ect.. Also with large bunny rabbits and lovely cafe (dare I say the best munkki in Finland) Tractor museum (9,7km)- A very popular museum featuring a vast selection of antique tractors. Lahnajärvi Cafe and farm shop (7,7km) - recently renovated and opened the once famous Cafe/Restaurant with large sandy beach and events. They also do a great lunch. Sale in Suomusjärvi or in Nummi (both about 10km) if you need to get supplies.
