Lake view

Soak up the view during your stay.
Wildsong Gaian Sanctuary - where you are invited to rediscover your childlike wonder and fall in love with Nature again.

Make friends with the deers, beavers, gold finches, white pines, cattails, earthworms, ghost pipes, and countless other Beings, among woods, fields, wetlands, ponds, streams and trails.

Then, get cozy in our majestic 8-bedroom log cabin, sit around the fireplace and share some campfire songs, cook together, laugh together, celebrate the connectedness that is never absent.

The space
We are privileged to be the stewards of Wildsong Gaian Sanctuary, 150 acres of this magical piece of Grandmother Earth. We are planting a regenerative food forest here, (re)learning how to thrive alongside *with* other beings of this land.

Our intention with opening this property to guests is to facilitate others' journey of deeper connection with nature, which always lead us back to ourselves.

If that resonates, join our journey on social!

The 8-bedroom log cabin is thoughtfully designed for groups and large families to gather and connect, and powered by geothermal and solar energy! We have beds for 24 adults in the large wood-log cabin. In the warmer months we can accommodate 10 more in glamping tents.

If you have more than 14 persons total, we have a $90 per person per night charge for any persons beyond 14. That’s $270 per person for a typical 3-night booking. Airbnb only allows you to indicate up to 16 guests max, so any guests beyond that will be charged manually.

In the main house

-The great room takes center stage with a large fireplace, open layout, soaring cathedral ceilings, and flexible seating that can be easily re-arranged to accommodate different group activities.
-The back deck has a breathtaking view of the sunset over the pond, beaver lodge, evergreen forest and protected wetlands.
-Our dining area's enormous 8' x 8' handmade wooden dining table can easily fit 16, and is warmly lit by a dimmable chandelier.
-The BBQ grill is right outside on the deck with a full picnic table if you would like to have lunch under the sun or under the stars.
-The kitchen is fully equipped to make meals for a large group: 2 ovens, high-output 5-burner stove, a double fridge, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, Vitamix, Coffee makers, and dishwasher. We even have an extensive tea station!
- The sauna is a cozy space to unwind the body/mind after a day of exploring and playing outdoors

Our bedrooms are named after unique local flora

Top floor:
- Cattail: 1 x King
- Thistle: 3 x Single
- Hemlock: 2 x Full
- 1 shared bathroom

Ground floor:
- Maple: 1 x Queen, 2 x Twin
- 1 attached full bathroom and clawfoot bathtub
- 1 shared half bath (just toilet and sink)

Bottom floor:
- Milkweed: 1 x Queen
- Barberry: 3 x Single
- Aster: 2 x Full
- Goldenrod: 6 x Single Bunks
- 2 shared bathrooms

The basement floor of the house also features a family room, with TV and board games for more traditional family entertainment.

In addition to the house, the property has a 30-foot yurt with wood floors, with plenty of yoga equipment for yoga, meditation, breathwork, conscious dance, and other wellness activities.

Both the yurt and glamping tents require an additional cleaning/setup charge. And the glamping tents are only available in the warmer months.

We can connect you with local services to make your stay extra special, e.g. yoga instructors, foraging guides, and private chefs.

For explorers, this is a dream. The extensive hiking trails on this 150 acre piece of Earth showcases the many facets of the environment in upstate New York. As you ramble along the extensive hiking trails, a series of diverse micro-environments unfolds: from beaver pond, to pine forest, to babbling stream, into the marsh, or back out into fields of wild strawberries, rock cliffs, and maple and beech forest.

The grounds are teeming with wildlife. We share the space with deer, turkey, beaver, geese, wild ducks, hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, bees, owls, red-tail hawks and bald eagles - all common sightings in the usual seasons. Our more shy neighbours include coyote, black bear, river otter, and blue heron. Some often under-appreciated beings you might encounter are wasps, black flies and field mice (though I personally love the cute little field mice). Nature is diverse. We accept the ones we like as well as the ones we like less.

The caretakers of the property are usually around during your booking to take care of the farm, clear the trails, and fix things around the property. They are housed in separate spaces and will respect your privacy and will never enter your log cabin without consent during your time here.

Guest access
The house is yours to use, and the trails and magical land are for you to explore. Go have an adventure!

Our garages and private storage are off-limits, and we ask you don't go past the river on the hiking trails as that then turns into protected wetlands for wildlife (unless with one of our guides and booked in advance). See house rules for further details.

Glamping options are not available from Oct - May because of the cold weather.

Other things to note
This is a special land where we are building a regenerative farm, deepening our connection to Nature and practicing stewardship of the land & fellow beings that live on it.

To ensure our home stays lovely and to maintain the integrity of our mission, we request that guests participate in the mindset of being good stewards of their surroundings, and require all guests to agree to abide by the house rules during their stay here.

PLEASE REVIEW ALL THE INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING.
Guests agree to BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL COST for any damage or consequences from not following these guidelines

YOUR EXPECTATIONS
If you are coming from the city and have not spent much time in the country or out in nature, there may be a few things you might not be used to. There is so much beauty and the awe and we cannot wait to share with you. However, living amongst nature also means adjusting to a different way of living, one that requires all of us to be more mindful of where we step, how we consume, and how we care for each other. Below are a few common mis-matches in expectations we have experienced with guests.

WILDLIFE
You will be amongst more wild creatures than you might be used to. For example, no matter how much we try, there will always be some wasps and spiders that get into the house. If you or anyone in your party is squeamish about bugs or other wild creatures, we would like to steer you to another property. If your party is up for the adventure, we ask to please respect the wildlife on the 150 acres around by being mindful of leaving any space as you found it, not making excessive noise, and perhaps even picking up any litter you find.

INFRASTRUCTURE
We have extraordinarily luxurious accommodations for the country and in nature. However, being much more exposed to the elements, there are always minor damages around the facilities. We use an extremely professional cleaning company. And while we do our best to stay on top of all the repairs, skilled tradesmen are in short supply. We will always ensure that your safety is not compromised. We however, ask for your understanding if something minor is not working or perfectly repaired - whether it’s water stains that we have not yet had time to repaint over, or an electric outlet that blew and have not been fixed.

ENERGY USE
The heating system will never heat the house to be super toasty temperature in some city apartments. We have an incredibly efficient fireplace and space heaters to supplement, but please be mindful to not run the space heaters all day and risk tripping the electric circuits. We switch off lights, fans and electric heaters when we leave the room. We always dress for the weather (which tends to be ~10 degrees lower than in the city). We actually seal all the windows in the house between the colder months of Oct - June. Please DO NOT open them. Re-sealing these windows require 2 persons and a specialized tool. Opening them even a crack will create a draft, bringing freezing air into the house all winter.

WATER AND WASTE
We also have an off grid septic system, which can become overloaded if not mindful. We ask guests to not leave taps running, and take showers of modest duration. We ourselves try to flush only after a “Number 2”, or at least several “Number 1”s. And please be very careful to ONLY flush human waste and the toilet paper we provide in the toilets.

Environmental impact
We are all active creators of our own and others' experience, and have the power to improve or degrade our surroundings through our choices and actions. So we invite you to take the time and attention to do whatever you're doing in a way that is kinder to this land and our fellow beings that live in it. We invite guests to practice REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, being mindful to minimize packaging waste of what you bring onto the land, learning to reuse products, and be diligent with sorting recyclables so that they actually get recycled once at the facilities.

FURNISHING
We mainly use the house as a retreat space, which means that the main living room is left mostly for flexible seating, with only 3 armchairs and lots of backjacks and cushions for floor seating. We do have a more traditional family room in the basement with a big couch and TV. If you are booking for a family, please confirm that this is what is desired for everyone.

VEHICLES
We are in a rural area with a long, sloping gravel driveway. It can be difficult for "city cars" to make it in and out after significant snow. If your booking is within October to April, you will need a 4WD/AWD vehicle(s) equipped with snow chains or snow tyres on (not "all-season" tyres). If you bring any vehicles that are not equipped that way, you assume full responsibility for any damage or costs related to getting help or being delayed in getting in or out.

SAFETY
The grounds of the property are gorgeous and could take days to explore. We ask that guests are mindful of their own safety, takin responsibility for wearing BLAZING ORANGE during hunting season (Oct-Mar), following marked/mowed trails, and exercising judgment

====

We realise this may be a lot to consider, and we're not asking for any kind of perfection. We ourselves are always learning. What we do ask is that you and your group make an earnest attempt to try on this mindset and practice it during your stay here.

If these requests and mindsets do not resonate for you, then we would kindly request that you find an alternative location. IF YOU DO REQUEST TO BOOK, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU AND YOUR GUESTS WILL BE MINDFUL AND OPEN TO EXPERIENCING THE LAND THIS WAY, AND WILL BEAR THE COST OF ANY REPAIRS AS A RESULT OF DAMAGES OR OVERLOADING THE SYSTEM

And if you're up for that adventure, we are SO excited to share with you the magic of this land. We fill follow up with more info on the logistics and practicalities after you book…

Neighbourhood highlights

We are located only 5 min drive from Bethelwoods Art Center, home of the Original Woodstock Festival, and where there are now (post pandemic) incredible musical performances all year round.

We’re ~15 mins away from Narrowsburg, Callioon, and other picturesque towns along the scenic Delaware River.

Escape Brooklyn writes, ‘Narrowsburg sits on the Delaware River between the Catskill Mountains and the Pocono Mountains. Thanks to an influx of new shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, Narrowsburg is known by locals as the pioneer “hotspot” in Sullivan County — and it’s long-held its own for years now as one of the coolest getaways from NYC... make sure to route your drive to Route 97 through Barryville and along the Delaware River; a portion of this drive is called The Hawk’s Nest and it’s considered one of the most scenic drives in New York State’
