LOTR inspired Hobbit-like house for climbers in the Potrero Chico canyon. Warm, cozy, quiet, surrounded by trees and mountains. Vaulted roofs fully covered with grass and thick walls provide astonishing insulation for both temperature and sound. Handcrafted using natural materials and permaculture technics. Beautiful porch roof with cacti garden. Following our number one rule when constructing, no trees were cut down. 100% off-the-grid.

The space
Hobbit house LOTR themed with private full bathroom and kitchenette, a medium size fridge (7 cb ft), verdant gardens and breathtaking views of the mountains. Immerse in the potrero chico canyon and entirely surrounded by trees, this house holds a comfortable and cozy temperature because of its insulation in the form of thick walls and green roof.

I am a mechanical engineer, love cycling (both MTB and road), photographing, building, woodworking (both carpentry and furniture making), blacksmith and welding. My wife and I were also climbers and hikers as well. I love reading, playing chess and dogs. After graduating from engineering school I went traveling to Europe, visited 16 countries in over 2 years. It was precisely that experience that had me wanting to build a hostel for climbers/travelers/nature enthusiasts.
