1925 craftsman style home for art and plant lovers located minutes from Heinz stadium, PNC Park, national aviary, downtown, cultural district, strip district, convention center, river walk trails, bus stop, Hwys 279 & 28. Short walk to Riverview park. Dog friendly! Beautiful and comfortably appointed home with on-street parking (no permit required).
PLEASE NOTE: There are 27 steep steps to the front door. Also, this is an old home, with old home quirks. It does not feel like new construction.

The space
This is an ENTIRE house, not just a separate floor in a home, ideal for those looking for privacy and flexibility. Home includes two separate bedrooms, flat screen television in 2nd bedroom and desk/work station in master bedroom, full bath, living room with dining table for up to six, living room, full kitchen and butler pantry with coffee maker and full size fridge/gas stove, washer/dryer in basement (with complimentary detergent and dryer sheets, iron). Heating, A/C and fast wifi. Kitchen includes all amenities and appliances (crock pot, blender, zoodler, pots/pans, etc.), dining room built-in filled with wine glasses, champagne flutes, vases etc. for entertaining, everything you will need to live comfortably. Basement provides storage as needed.
This is a 1920s home and although I have updated it as much as possible, it’s still has some old-fashioned quirks. Among them: Most windows do not currently open and although there is air-conditioning throughout the home, it not strong in the bedrooms due to upstairs location. There are bedroom fans and a standing A/C unit upstairs as well. Some re-plastering needs to be completed in main bedroom upstairs.

All the benefits of city living in a small town-feel neighborhood. 5 minute walk to Riverview Park, one of the jewels of the Pittsburgh park system; with miles of wooded trails, the best of the city pools, dog park, observatory and free jazz/movies in the park in summer months. 5 minute drive to Allegheny Commons with tennis courts, dog park, lake with elegant bridges and the National Aviary as well as all the restaurants and bars of the North Side. 5 minute drive to Warhol Museum, stadiums, downtown, cultural district etc.

Master bedroom: queen bed with tuft/needle memory foam mattress, large walk in closet, standard closet, desk, whole house with speedy wifi internet, between bedrooms there is a linen closet with extra towels, sheets, blankets, electric blanket, electric heater.
Second bedroom: standard (not Pittsburgh) closet, 40" flatscreen tv (no cable) with access to smart channels, prime, Netflix. Queen size bed with memory foam mattress.
Bathroom: shower and bath with hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste. Sundries kept in vanity drawer.
Laundry: full size washer and dryer, free to use in basement. Laundry detergent, dryer sheets, iron free to use.
Kitchen: everything needed for full kitchen included, all appliances, extra storage in butler pantry, plates/cups/wine glasses/champagne flutes, no dishwasher but paper plates/cups available if you don't want to wash dishes.

Unlimited on-street parking in front of house, no permits required. However, since COVID it has been more crowded! I have never had difficulty parking in front of home but 2+ vehicles may require walking.

Request an Uber/Lyft when you’re near baggage claim or ground transportation. Choose a ride option that suits your group size and luggage storage needs. From baggage claim, exit out of DOOR 4 to the commercial pickup curb. This is where all Uber driver-partners at PITTSBURGH INTER'L AIRPORT meet travelers for pickup.
Wait curbside for your driver. If you can't find your driver, contact him or her through the app to confirm your location.
Head to Ground Transportation and take Port Authority Bus 28x Airport Flyer towards downtown Pittsburgh. 28X runs to Downtown Pittsburgh every 30 minutes until midnight. Purchase fare card at machine (takes cash or credit card) by Ground Transportation Door 6, where the bus picks you up.
Exit 28X downtown at Liberty Ave/Wood Street. Walk to 7th and Penn for the 8 route bus. Disembark opposite Cherryfield street in front of the Byzantine church, 1 minute walk to house.

Total flexibility with regard to check-in, (unless a guest is leaving/arriving same day), upon booking you will be sent the combination for a key safe. Sidewalks and steps are well-lit by street lights. Steps to front door- there are 27, this is Pittsburgh!- are very steep, with left side hand rail. Please, use caution when ascending and descending stairs and keep in mind that this home will not be accessible for those with difficulty climbing steps.

House located in Observatory Hill neighborhood, a quiet residential area that is a very short drive to stadiums and all cultural district theaters and restaurants! We are located just up the hill from Mexican War Streets neighborhood, with extensive restaurant, coffee shop and nightlife options and short drive to downtown with all cultural district offerings. For those with dogs or who just love nature, a short walk to Riverview park offers miles of wooded trails, phenomenal swimming pool in summer and observatory. If you want a location that feels off the beaten path but connects easily and quickly to all the city has to offer, this is the place.
