Where you’ll be

White Rock, New Mexico, United States

We are located on the Pajarito Plateau at the base of the Jemez Mountains. The town of White Rock is about a mile away with a supermarket, post office, gas stations, and restaurants. Bus service is available from White Rock to Los Alamos and from there to Santa Fe. The town of Los Alamos and Los Alamos National Laboratory are approximately 10 miles away.

Santa Fe is about a forty minute drive and Taos is about an hour and a half to the north. The Jemez Mountains offer hiking, fishing, hot springs, rock climbing and skiing at Pajarito Mountain. Just down the road is Bandelier National Monument which provides a look at the early history of the area. A site worth visiting is the Valles Caldera National Preserve located in the Jemez Mountains. Another popular spot is the Ojo Caliente hot springs which is also about an hour to the north. River rafting is an exciting excursion and is available from multiple vendors in the Rio Grande Gorge near Taos. If you have your own tube, raft, kayak, or canoe you can enter the river at many locations.

There are several pueblos within a short distance of the house. Visitors are generally welcome, but check with the pueblo before planning your visit.

Albuquerque is New Mexico's major city with airport service and is located about an hour and a half to the south. Bus and train service is available between Albuquerque and Santa Fe with connecting bus service to Los Alamos. Shuttle service is also available between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
