Kioloa Blue

Where the forest meets the sea

Welcome to my sunny north facing, open plan beach house built in 2018 and nestled in view of Murramarang National Park. You can often hear the pounding waves on Merry Beach, local native birds and the bounding kangaroos who love to munch on my front lawn. Ducks swim in the nearby dam and love to amble around my yard.

The space
My home with its double glazed windows is warm in winter and cool in summer. The north facing spotted gum deck is perfect for Kioloa’s many sunny winter days and the western deck is under the cover of the carport for hot summer weather. This 5m high carport is perfect for motor homes, caravans or boats and there’s off street parking for four vehicles. There are two outdoor settings, a shade umbrella, padded three seater lounge and a Weber Q bbq on the deck.

Linen is supplied and extra towels are in the laundry cupboard as well as extra bedding including doonas and pillows in the bedrooms. The kitchen supplies cutlery, crockery including plastic ware for children, pots, pans and electrical appliances and is fully equipped with everything you need for your stay including complimentary tea/coffee/milk, cooking oil, salt, pepper and other condiments.

There are children’s books available.

Shower gel, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer are provided in the bathroom.

The open plan lounge room, dining area and kitchen feature blackbutt floorboards, high ceilings and an aerodynamic ceiling fan. In the lounge room there is a two and half seater lounge, two club chairs, a 50” smart tv and a blue ray player. For heating and cooling there is a split system air conditioning and heater. A games cupboard contains popular games for your fun as well as a small collection of books, magazines and dvds.

In the sunny dining area the dining table extends to fit six and a standing desk is available for tablets and laptops near a USB port.

The kitchen has plenty of bench space and a full sized fridge/freezer, microwave, wall oven and hot plates. There are two tank water taps in the kitchen with one coming exclusively from a stainless steel tank via copper pipes from those who prefer not to drink from the plastic tank. There is also a glass Zazen water filter on the kitchen bench. All the water in the house is rainwater caught on the rooftop and I ask that guests are wise with their water usage.

The two carpeted bedrooms both have built-ins and queen size beds. The main bathroom features a full length bath, a double shower, toilet and vanity whilst the fully enclosed outside bathroom includes toilet, mixer hot/cold shower and vanity. In the laundry a front loading washing machine with detergent, iron and ironing board are provided.

There is Telstra mobile coverage throughout Kioloa. Coverage is available at Kioloa Beach for other carriers. Unlimited NBN wifi is provided.

There are three white sandy beaches with Merry Beach 1 km away, Kioloa Beach with the safest swimming and its boat ramp 1.4 km away and 1.5 km to Pretty Beach popular for surfing in Murramarang National Park and which also has a spectacular whale watching vantage point. These pristine beaches are either perfect for surfing, safe swimming, fishing, walking and relaxing on.

Local Merry street shop/takeaway and restaurant is located less than 1 km away and makes barista coffees and excellent hot chips. Saltwood Café also nearby serves barista coffees and light meals and is very popular too. It’s 5 km to Bawley shops which include an IGA Express, liquor shop, takeaway , pharmacy, bakery and a newsagent/gift shop with beach and fishing gear. Larger towns with shopping centres are Ulladulla and Batemans Bay 30 and 40 minutes drive away. Termeil service station is open 24/7 and has basic supplies.

Other local attractions include Pigeon House Mountain bushwalk, pick your own blueberries in Dec/Jan and horse riding in Termeil. Willinga Park is Australia’s newest equine facility set on 800 hectares at Bawley Point and often has open days for visitors including Sculpture by the Sea.
