The space
After a long day on the river or trails, or exploring the many splendors of the "true Upstate NY", you'll love coming home to this spacious, private retreat. It's equipped with everything you could possibly need: dining ware, cookware, baking ware, paper products, bed linens, bath linens, high-speed internet, basic television channels, DVD player, books and games. Just pack your clothes, toiletries, groceries and have a great time!

Observe the seasonal wildlife from the comfort of cedar log furniture on the covered porch. Bald eagles, fox, deer and wild turkeys are seasonally spotted here. Various bird species will delight you as they frequent the stocked feeders on the property. Toad songs can be heard any time of day in warm weather and will be joined at night by the pond bullfrogs, creating one of nature's best banjo concerts accompanied with an incredible light show of fireflies.

Prepare dinner on the charcoal grill, gather around the outdoor firepit, and enjoy the best that glamping has to offer!

The cabin is located onTubbs Rd in Richland, NY. Fishermen (and women!) can walk to the Orwell Brook at the end of the road, Salmon River access is a couple miles away...snowmobilers have direct access to the trail system crossing the property...ATVers are on the trail as they leave the driveway...skiers and dog-sledders are only 18 miles from Winona Forest CCC Camp. There's plenty of room for trucks and trailers.

My husband and I are from upstate NY and love to travel. We've enjoyed vacation homes throughout North and South America for many years. Looking ahead to retirement, we purchased our Medellin, CO apartment and long for the day that we can make it our second home. In the meantime, we're thrilled to offer that incredible space to other travelers (and happy that it pays the overhead!) At home in NY we enjoy spending time with our 5 children and 10 grandchildren. We're happiest when cooking over an open fire in the middle of the woods and sleeping in our tent, but we also enjoy taking in the sites and experiences that major cities have to offer. We recently purchased and renovated a beautiful log cabin on 10 acres in Upstate NY, located in a region commonly called "the base of Tug Hill" and "the heart of salmon country". It's pure paradise for fishermen and snowmobilers, and for families like us that just want to enjoy the outdoor tranquility while taking advantage of the spacious indoor luxury. This cabin was home to my widowed mother for 25 years and the neighboring farmhouse is where I grew up, so this property is very special to us. As hosts, we don't look for properties to rent out. We purchase and maintain properties that we love and want to enjoy ourselves.
