The space

Easy walk to Blackstone Boulevard with a central green path available for walking, jogging or biking. Easy access to Brown University, RISD and downtown Providence, including Historic Federal Hill. Less than one hour to historic Newport RI. Blackstone Park which runs along the Seekonk River and also provides walking and running paths is a short walk from the house.

Guests will have access to the entire first floor: formal living room, family room, half bath, kitchen, pantry, dining room and sun room. On the second floor they will have access to a bedroom with a queen bed and a single bed and a private full bath with jacuzzi and shower. On the third floor, access to the dormer bedroom with a double bed and private full bathroom with an antique ball and claw tub. Guests will also have access to the back yard including the grill, deck, and patio. Several private rooms will not be accessible to guests but they will be unoccupied during the guest's stay. Washer/Dryer available in the basement laundry room.

Interaction with guests

We prefer an introductory phone call with prospective guests. We will greet the guests and show them the house and how to get around, including a map of the area. Beyond that, the guests will have the house to themselves. If we are not here, our neighbor will introduce you to the house and be available as a first point of contact should any issues arise. We also offer an optional bed and breakfast arrangement if we are unable to vacate the house.

Other things to note

The house has many architectural details that take you back to the beginning of the 20th century, such as bulls-eye door trim, wainscoting leaded glass windows and hardwood floors throughout. The pantry has glass cabinets and a second dishwasher, as well as frosted glass trim. The third floor bathroom, originally intended for the household live in help, which was common in this area in the early 1900's, features a ball and claw bathtub and a rare wooden toilet.

House Rules
No smoking

We have high speed wireless internet available;
The TV is operated by a remote control. In order to turn it on, you must turn on both the TV and the SetTopBox (STB).
There are two dishwashers in the house, one in the kitchen and one in the pantry. PLEASE ONLY USE THE KITCHEN WASHER.
We have a digital telephone system so you have to dial the area code on every call, including local ones (we are in area code 401).
The Kitchen Sink and the Pantry Sink both have garbage disposals. The Kitchen disposal switch is under the cabinets on the left.
The house has on-demand hot water. While this means it never runs out, it also means it takes a while to heat up, so be patient.
The front door sticks and is hard to open and close. Please use the back door.
The grill on the back porch is directly connected to the city gas… there is no tank. Please be careful.
The house is NOT child proof so please be vigilant with toddlers and little ones getting into cabinets and closets.
The alarm system will not be engaged during your stay but will beep once every time the door is opened. This is just to let you know that the door is opening, it is not an alarm.
Please limit your stay to the first, second and third floors. If you use the washer/dryer in the basement please do not touch the exercise equipment or tools in the workshop.
Please replace any commodities you consume, such as coffee, cereal, sugar, etc.
We are a non smoking house and while we love pets, we would prefer not to have them here while we are not around. Please respect the peacefulness of the neighborhood (no loud music, especially in the back yard). Some items are private. We expect those to be left alone. We recycle and are respectful of preserving the environment.
Please replenish anything you use up in the cabinets and feel free to leave items for the next guest in the fridge or cabinets.

Elias' home is in a quiet residential neighborhood on a corner with a pretty garden. It is very spacious and worked well for our family during our time in Providence

We spent an unforgettable weekend at Elias's home. The house is absolutely amazing-clean, spacious, and well-decorated! Everything here was great. Unfortunately we did not met Elias in person, but we were welcomed by Andrea, who is patient and helpful! We will definitely recommend this house!

LOVED this beautiful home!!! Staying here was super relaxing and just what we needed. The photos don't do this beautiful home justice and Elias was very reliable and an excellent communicator. I highly recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in the area.

This is an absolutely lovely home. We stayed here with five guests for graduation week, while Elias and his wife also resided with us. The home - To our delight, the space was larger than expected. The downstairs has multiple large rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room), perfect for hosting guests for parties as we did. The upstairs has two bedrooms that were clean and warm (one on the 2nd floor, the other on the 3rd floor), with needed amenities provided (towels, extra blankets). The backyard is spacious, with a large gas BBQ pit with all the tools you'd need for grilled perfection. A neat feature is that there are house speakers so you're able to listen to your favorite tunes throughout the entire house (+outside!). Overall, the atmosphere was very quiet and comfortable. The location - The neighborhood is glorious. The homes are beautiful, roads paved with large mature trees, making for wonderful walks outside. The house is right by Wayland Square which boasts many lovely restaurants and cute stores. A 15 minute walk away will bring you to the heart of Brown University, which felt very accessible (about a 3 minute car ride). The host(s) - Elias is a very thoughtful host. Every morning he and his wife, Joanne, made us a light breakfast of croissants, fruit, and tea. They were very thoughtful about being helpful when needed, and providing us space otherwise. They are lovely people who are well travelled and exude warm spirits. Overall, we would recommend this location. We would rent again. Thank you Elias & Joanne for such wonderful hospitality! <3

The house is gorgeous. Centrally located, easy walk to Wayland Square and Blackstone Boulevard. Kitchen is well equipped with everything one might need. Bedrooms are large, third floor bathroom is small but usable. The outdoor space is generous, shopping center around the corner. Highly recommend
