Welcome to the town which takes pride in 135 year old tradition in tourism, the jewel of Croatia. Whichever road one may choose to come to Hvar, one would come across many a monument witnessing the rich historic heritage.
The main town square, St. Stephen square, lined by right and left side by fine palaces of the two oldest parts of the town, Groda and Burg, is considered the largest and most beautiful medevial square on the Adriatic coast. Furthermore it is crowned by the oldest communal theatre in Europe, finished and open to the public in the early 1612.
The mild climate, 300 sunny days per year, lush vegetation, picturesque bays, lovely pebble beaches and picnic resorts, clear summer nights with million diamond stars above and crystal clear emerald sea by day, revealing all Neptune’s riches to visitors are completed by the intensive fragrance of lavender, rosemary, heather and other aromatic herbs. Cricket and grasshopper concerts lull you to sleep. It makes the visit immemorable and Hvar one of the most appealing destinations on the Adriatic coast.
Our house is situated at a quiet, sunny position with a seaview.There are terraces and a private parking lot too. All the apartments and rooms are airconditioned and have satelite tv, and free internet wireless access too. At close vicinity there are three markets, and there are but few hundred meters to the first beach and a mere 10 min walk along the shore to the harbour itself. Taxi boats in the harbour will take you to the lovely excursion places on the neighbouring islands. Both in the harbour as in the old part of the town you will find many a restaurant, inn to enjoy Dalmatian meat and fish specialities and also many cafeterias that work round the clock. In the evening one can find amusement and music events there.
We are awaiting you on the kiwi and vinegrape leaves shaded house terrace, to welcome you with a toast of home made wine, grape brandy, herb brandy or desert sweet wine prosek of our cellar. We offer fine homemade wine, including high quality bottled - Hvar Plavac, various Grapa (strong Croatian alcoholic beverage), brandy and Prošek (sweet dessert wine) from our own wine cellar. We also produce first class olive oil, as well as lavander. All of our products can be tasted and bought at our bar, or our own wine cellar.
On request, breakfasts are served on the very terrace. The other terrace offers you leisure moments enjoying the perfect seaview.

In case you are coming by your car, you will travel by ferryboat from Split to Stari Grad (Hvar ferry port). There is a 20 min car ride from Stari Grad to Hvar Town. Upon arriving to the town entrance crossroad you have to turn left, heading for Bodul hotel/ Križna luka / INA petrol station. After some 800 m you will notice at your right side the adverisment label “APARTMANI BALIĆ” . Some 20 m ahead make a sharp turn to the right and at15 m to the right, just in front of our house, there is to be found a parking area for 3 cars. The other option for arrival is to go from Drvenik to Sućuraj and that means an 80 km long ride to Hvar.
In case you are coming by plane to Split airport, take the bus wich will transport you to the Split harbour. Therefrom you have several catamaran lines a day going directly to the Hvar port. Information on “Jadrolinija” and U.T.O. Kapetan Luka. You are advized to buy catamaran tickets upon arrival in Split, on account of numerous tourists going to Hvar.
Otherwise, you can take a ferry boat to Stari Grad and therefrom go by bus to Hvar Town.
Arrivig in Hvar Town, follow the seashore to the right to the Franciscan monastery and Križna luka football playground. Facing the playground, turn left upwards and you will find yourself in the Veljko Kovačević street. Then go to the right, up the slope and at your left, at some 300 m distance you will notice our family house. Our house is a 10 min. walking distance but in case you have a lot of luggage you may take a taxi.
Tickets for catamarans by "Jadrolinija" and "Kapetan Luka" can be booked up to a month in advance - but at least 24 hours before departure. You can do it online and pay by credit card. If possible, print out the receipt and use it to pick up your ticket at their offices, or show the receipt on your smartphone.
