The space
Safety Harbor is a quiet community nestled on the banks of Upper Tampa Bay. It is Tampa Bay's best kept secret! It is away from the hustle bustle of city life, yet just minutes from world class Gulf beaches, major shopping malls, Tampa International Airport, several nationally acclaimed performing arts centers and easily accessible to several major league sports venues within Clearwater and Tampa. This quaint community has distinctive shops, award winning restaurants and plenty of family fun. There is certainly something for everyone, from its beautiful parks laden with historical significance and nature's artwork, to its shops and restaurants and outdoor activities. Downtown Safety Harbor sets the mood for our community with its palm trees, canopied sidewalks and brick lined streets. Safety Harbor's Main Street offers you the opportunity to succumb to your curiosity while perusing through captivating shops, sampling new cuisine and rediscovering a love of art displayed in one of the area's finest galleries on Main Street

Also, Philippe Park and the waters of Tampa Bay are less than a two-mile walk from the townhome. Biking, walking, kayaking or paddleboarding are highly recommended to enjoy many of these areas. There is also the beautiful Veterans Memorial Marina Park and the Safety Harbor pier within very close proximity of the townhome, just next to the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. You may even spot some manatees at certain time of the year here. A beautiful spot to see fish, kayak, boat and enjoy nature.

Safety Harbor is the home of the historic Espiritu Santo Springs, or "Springs of the Holy Spirit", a natural mineral spring. Its waters were given this name in 1539 by the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, who was supposedly searching for the mythical "Fountain of Youth." Prior to the Spanish exploration of Florida, the Tocobaga and Timuquan tribes are believed to have fished and bathed in the spring's waters. In the 20th century, Espiritu Santo water was bottled and sold commercially, and later a health spa and hotel were built over the springs. The Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, as it is now known, continues to be a prominent visitor attraction in Pinellas County. In 1964, the site was designated a Historical Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior and in 1997 a Florida Heritage Landmark. The Safety Harbor Resort and Spa is still open to the public and offers many amenities for everyone.

The townhome is within walking distance to Philippe Park, a Pinellas County park located in Safety Harbor, Florida. The park is named after Count Odet Philippe, who is credited with introducing grapefruit to Florida. It is situated on 122 acres that was once part of Philippe's plantation. Philippe was the county's first non-native settler, arriving in 1842. Count Philippe is buried in the park but the exact location is undetermined. A Tocobaga Indian mound that is situated in the park is a National Historic Landmark known as the Safety Harbor Site. The temple mound is one of the last remnants of the Tocobaga on the Pinellas Peninsula.

I love Florida and enjoy everything it has to offer. I'm very active in all water-related activities, be it boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkling, diving, fishing, spearfishing. Really anything in and above the water. Florida offers so many different areas and environments for everyone to enjoy so if you need any suggestions during your stay, please do not hesitate to ask. I can also arrange paddleboard or kayak trips and rentals for you.
