Welcome to Manitoulin Permaculture! We are an eclectic community of infectiously warm and welcoming humans that are exploring ways of living that nurture each other and the land we share. We recently created a private, lakeside "glamping" space for guests. A queen bed with linens and bedding is provided for your stay. There is a private composting toilet next to your tent.

The space
NOTE: To anyone considering booking in May - please get in touch before booking. We are waiting on a new roof for the tent and don't have an exact arrival date for it. My suggestion is to wait until the new roof arrives since the previous one developed a small leak last fall.

In normal times, there are volunteers from around the globe coming and going from our little corner of paradise. Not so much these days. We're mostly functioning as a get away spot for folks from Southern Ontario. If you want or need a break from the constraints of urban lockdown life, you will probably feel renewed from a bit of time here.

If you have any farm proclivities and want to help (no expectations) pull weeds, harvest veggies or pitch in with projects, you are certainly welcome to.

The Lotus Belle tent is located in a private spot and you can choose your level of interaction with the others here.

The plusses:
- the space is beautiful and private
- the frogs will sing you to sleep

The minuses:
- there is some road noise (not much at night).
- the tent is in a relatively sunny spot. If the weather gets hot and there is no wind, we can provide a fan. If it is just too hot, we have other spaces that are often available that aren't quite as fancy but will be cooler.

There is a considerable amount of wildlife on the property or passing through. You may find yourself sharing a pathway with a skunk or porcupine, encounter snakes, frogs, turtles, and toads, with many birds coming and going.

Most of our property is wheelchair(ish) friendly. Please get in touch if you want specific details.

Where you’ll be

Little Current, Ontario, Canada

We're located on a rural stretch of Hwy 540. Not exactly a neighborhood. The closest town is Little Current (10 min by car, 30 - 40 min by bike). You can find most things there that are you likely to want to need.

On farm we host Workawayers, WWOOFers, cross country cyclists, and interns from around the planet. There can be many languages happening at once at the dinner table!

This summer we are opening our place to the worldschooling community (parents who travel with kids). Expect kiddo and family energy to permeate the communal spaces much of the time.
