Where you’ll be

Richmond, Tasmania, Australia

Richmond is a beautiful Georgian village located within the Coal River Valley. The Richmond Bridge dates back to 1823 and is the oldest bridge still in use in Australia. The suns rays reflecting on the sandstone of the bridge look fabulous early morning or late afternoon for that special photo, and the bridge is also floodlit every night. We also have two notable churches in the village, St Johns Catholic Church (1837) located beyond the bridge and St Lukes Anglican Church (1834). The Richmond Gaol is a wonderful example of an early Australian gaol and Old Hobart Town features a very interesting display of early life in colonial Hobart. The main street offers great art galleries, antique shops, cafes and dining options. A well stocked IGA supermarket is a 5 minute walk from Richmond Barracks. The village is wonderful to walk around during each and every season of the year.
