Unique stone house in an amazing natural garden of 5500m2 with picturesque river, cistern and old stone hut, 300m from the beach. 5 terraces in 3 different levels, for isolation and big dinners. 2 nice beaches +taverns.

The space

The most interesting element is the garden, left mostly in its natural state with old trees, cypresses, olive trees, planes, oaks. We don't have a pool but 160m of a little river with plenty of water tilll the end of June (last year even in August!). The spot is magic. The house, built on 2006 is simple, not luxury or pretentious, somehow modern, made of the stone from the garden, so everybody thinks it is old. Its is very convenient that the bedrooms have external doors to the terrace, and the terraces all around the house with different views, follow the light or the shadow. one of the attractions of the house is the huge cement bath tube downstairs, built in the rock. To get to the beach on foot, by the road or through the fields...

Guest access

Access to Andros is very easy, because the departure port RAFINA is only half an hour from ATHENS AIRPORT, and the boat trip only 2 hours. With boats leaving around 17.00, if the plane arrives even at 15.30 you have enough time to catch the evening boat. There is a bus every half an hour from the airport and of course taxis (round 20 euros). I will inform you of the bus timetable.
After arriving to the port of Andros called GAVRIO, you must take a bus to the other side of the island (east side) where is the capital town CHORA. There I will be waiting for you with my car to take you to the house (2kms). There is a walking distance of 200 m. from the parking to the house. So if your luggage is very heavy I could call somebody to carry them.

Interaction with guests

I will be staying in the stone hut you see in the photo. IIi is 70 meters away but you don't see me and I don't see you. I have rent this house through another site for some years, so I have some experience of what people want. I always offer a dinner to my guests, and we talk about the island and what is worth seeing according to your preferences.
I like meeting people but I also respect their privacy.

Other things to note

The most important element of your trip is the island itself, "a hidden tresor" as most visitors call it. A very green island with small rivers and waterfalls, with dozens of first quality beaches,a hundred f nice villages of traditional architecture, a changing landscape every few kilometers, and a unique network of trails ANDROS ROUTES recently awarded from the European Union of hikers with the quality sign "Leading Quality ofTrails-Best of Europe".

Most lovely host that made our stay the most perfect one ! She gave us so many precious tips on the island, the beaches, the restaurants... And the house !!! Well the house is so special and one of a kind ! You just feel you've been living there forever ! It's nicely decorated, fully equipped, perfectly structured for a big family or 2 couples, good vibes and nice view. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful island and this was mainly thanks to Lia and her lovely house ! Eucharisto poli Lia !

This house is heaven, having Lia as a host is a privilege and also fun, she's a great and intersting person. She picked us up at the bus terminal and had cooked lamb dinner for us! She stayed at the cabin close to the house, but gave us full privacy (even though we would have loved to see her more, because she's so sincere:-)) We stayed for 10 days and are already planning to return in May next year. The location is wonderful, the Walk down to the beach is wonderful also, and we were there with three kids age 8, 5 and 3. No problem. A very green and majestetic valley. The local beach was so cosy and quiet and the taverna elegant. We had salad and ice cream there every day. Actually, after Stenies we stayed in Chora (Lia's house was booked) but still we returned to this beach because of the local atmosphere and also the river, which the children really enjoyed. Amazing and creative house, lovely garden with fruit trees and herbs to eat. Friendly cat. Only thing - though not a minus as such: be careful if your child is 1-2 years old, the veranda is steep. Thank you for the most lovely stay!

Lias house is a charming, eclectic pearl on a greek island free of charter tourism. No nightlife noise here, just the lovely lovely wind and the profound sound of nature. We walked the lovely walk on hidden paths to the beach every day, made our espresso in the morning and enjoyed the wiew from the terrace. Lia took us to Cora and arround, she is the most wonderful host one could ever whish for, funny, caring and loveable. Thank You Lia!

Lia is an incredible host and the house is fantastic, immersed in nature and only a ten minute walk from the wonderful Giala beach. The beach was never too crowded and it also hosts a good restaurant. Lia welcomed us with an home cooked Mussaka that was a real treat and left us the fridge full of locally grown products. If you are looking for a place to stay in Andros, look no further, just go ahead and book!

The house was absolutely beautiful and Lia was very welcoming and generous upon our arrival. We fell in love with the valley and its friendly locals - the flowers and trees surrounding the house were exceptionally beautiful, like being nestled into the hillside with nature. You can hear the river running past the house and there's a wonderful hike to a nearby waterfall. We would recommend bringing mosquito repellent!! Thank you for a great stay!

We had a great stay at Lia's place. The house has an exceptional design, has been decorated very tastefully, has a fantastic view and a huge adventurous garden. Though situated on a rather steep hill so you need be in good condition. Lia is a wonderful and kind host. We felt very much at home and can certainly recommend this place!
