Baxter's Harbour is a quiet neighbourhood. Sometimes there are community things going on at the community center. This summer they are having a Sunday morning sale with various boothsselling homemade food, old books, jewelery, crafts etc. Once in a while Musical guests play concerts in the church. You can walk to the public beach in about 5 minutes where you will get an even better view of the waterfall that is beside our property and there are more cottages.

When I was young we had a family cottage on the Bay of Fundy in Baxter's Harbour which may be why I have been a rock hound since I could walk. I still love walking the beaches in the area or any where. My newest hobby is cutting and polishing some of the rocks I find and making them into jewelry. We now rent our renovated family cottage, as well as the Harbour Home and Stone Cottage that my uncle built. They are all on the five acre beach front lot. I enjoy sharing this special place with others. I happily tell guests about our waterfall and beach as well as things to see and do in the area and what it was like over my years. My husband has an interest in history and can tell guests the interesting historical facts and events of the area and the bay. Summer for me is watching the amazing sunsets over the Bay of Fundy, sharing meal times and sitting with friends and family around a fire. It is a great place to see the stars (and meteor showers in August). Whales, dolphins and eagles are creatures I have always been interested in observing. Eagles and seals are seen often in our area, dolphins and whales sometimes when you are very lucky. In winter I like to cross country ski with my neighbour in the fields and woods behind my house. Maybe a bit of skating and snowshoeing. I am not as much a fan of winter as I was when I was younger. I must confess I spend some of the winter looking forward to spring and summer.

During your stay

I will meet guests as they arrive with a key and a short tour of the property. I can tell them about the tides, where the closest stores are, what there is to do in the area and a quick list of local restaurants , wineries and brew pubs.
