A little cabin at the base is the woods, a place to get away from it all and be surrounded by nature. Just minutes from the Clarion River and biking trails. Carlo’s Cabin offers peace, tranquility and modern conveniences for your not so out of the way, getaway.

The space
This sweet cabin nestled at the base of a mountain in Elk County is a great getaway with friends, family or even a romantic weekend for two. The clarion river is easily accessible and super close by along with walking trails, hiking, fishing and so much more.
You are only 25 minutes from Bear Town Rocks and Clear Creek State Park.
10 minutes to the town of Ridgway.
(note. you can see houses from the camp)

There are two bedrooms in the cabin each with two sets of bunk beds and a dresser.

The main area has a large sectional couch, two leather recliners, table and chairs, and kitchen area.

Bathroom has a tub/shower enclosure and a small washer and dryer for your convenience.

Carlo’s Cabin is now equipped with wifi and a telephone.

There is no cell service in the area though. Depending on your provider, may determine how close to the cabin you can get service. Everyone will have service in Ridgway about 15 minutes down the road. We get service to the left of reservoir road about 5 min or so, near the Elk Meat Farm.

There is a small standing charcoal grill on the porch and utensils to use in the fire for hotdogs and marshmallows.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic and extra sanitizing precautions being taken for our guests, we have decided that we can no longer offer full linens, blankets and pillows. Its a very rigorous routine to get them all washed properly.
We will continue to have bed sheets but no comforters and pillows.

Where you’ll be

Spring Creek Township, Pennsylvania, United States

Canoe, Kayak, Tubing Trips:

The Portland Mills Canoe Launch is just a mile down the road to the right from the Cabin. There are several good areas for river time.

Putting In at the canoe launch, you can go to the Hulton Bridge which is approx 8 miles of water time.
To park your vehicle at the Hulton Bridge, make a left out of reservoir road and then make a right onto Arroyo Road. you will follow it directly to the bridge area.

Another option is to take the scenic drive to Ridgway, which is about 11 miles to the right from the cabin. You can put it in at a few different launches. one is near the lazy river canoe shop. you can also rent any equipment there. Taking that to the canoe launch in portland mills is about 10-11 miles of water time.

There are some great fishing areas near the old CCC camps just down from
the Cabin to the right. Take a right out of reservoir road. Then make a right onto game commission road. follow that and turn down to the right and you will find the parking area. there are streams easy to get to on the toby creek from there. also a nice bike and walking trail to either Brockway or ridgway.

There are some fun trails just up behind the cabin past the reservoir at top of hill. I will caution you to be on the lookout for how you went. The mountain laurel is very thick and can get confusing but there are some
clear cut paths to the top of the mountain and some beautiful views. Hike to the top takes about 45 minutes.

Bear Town Rocks is part of the clear creek national forest. From the cabin make a left out of Reservoir Road and then a right onto route 949. you will travel down this road about 8 miles and on the left will be Spring Creek Rd. You will then travel that road for a mile
or two and the entrance to the rocks and trails will be on your right.

Just across the road from where you turned to bear town rocks is the entrance for clear creek which has a small beach area and swimming hole. Nice and refreshing place to stop and play. the water is freezing cold as it is fresh spring water that comes
down right from the mountain!

My name is Mara Denardo. My husband Tony and I have been married for 18 years and finally found our dream home, down on the farm. We love the serenity and fun we have with our family right here at home. I am a photographer, mom, home maker, Gardner and chef. Always wearing lots of hats but love them all.
