Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A 1900's beach cottage on Peaks Island, a 5 minute walk from the ferry, but nestled off the road in a park like, peaceful setting. Hear the waves at night from the backyard, walk 5 minutes to Sandy Beach for swimming and to Picnic Point, with its view of Cushing Island and Whitehead Pass. Experience the beauty of Peaks -- but take a 17 minute ferry ride into downtown Portland for award winning restaurants. The best of both worlds!

The space
This is a unique place with an addition that was added 30 years ago which I live in. I have a separate entrance but the bathroom is shared between the two units. The bathroom is the area that connects the two areas--2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and porch are all your own.

Portland, Maine, United States

Peaks Island has a grocery story, a coffee shop, a couple restaurants, a kayak rental and tours, walks along Casco Bay and the back side for the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Tour the creepy Battery Steele, an old WWII bunker. If the quiet and peace starts getting to you, head into town for great food and beer. Ferries are fairly frequent, about hourly, from 6:15 am to 10:30 (11:30 on weekends).

I recently moved from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine to be closer to my daughters in NYC and Boston. I was an Airbnb superhost in Oregon for several years and enjoyed hosting people and sharing my city with them.
During your stay
It just depends. I travel fairly frequently for work or leisure so I may not be home. If I am home, I am happy to answer questions.
