Ready for an adventure on Peaks Island, Maine? This two story, 11'x 11' cottage is perfect for one or two people looking for a non-traditional get-away. A quiet, private mini-house next to a larger active guest house.

Your host, Ted is an old hippie who is young at heart, who will share his eclectic home, warm hospitality, and ideas for a fun-filled island adventure. Enjoy bicycling or hiking around the island, exploring the rocky shore-line, relaxing on the beach and dining at local restaurants.

Equipped with a kitchenette and half bathroom (shared full bath in main house), a ladder to the second floor, just a block from the beach, and a 20 minute ferry ride to Portland, you are guaranteed to have a memorable and rich stay here. Located next to an artist's creative, quirky, ever-evolving home/ work of art which is not fully completed.

Kitchenette includes convection oven, toaster oven, hot plates, refrigerator and sink.

Please note that the bedroom is on the second floor via a sturdy ladder. Note: Futon in photos has been replaced with a comfortable, real bed.

2 guests preferred. If necessary to add one guest, $35.00 extra per night. 3 guests absolute maximum.

Sorry NO PETS, no exceptions. I love pets, but the house is not set up to accomodate them, sorry!

You can either park your car for free at your own risk on the street in Portland, at the ferry terminal in Portland for $25.00/ day, or bring your car on the ferry (see below for rates). If you are coming by foot, you can either take the Island Taxi to "Ted's Place," or walk for one mile on Island Avenue to the Tree House. Let Ted know in advance if you would like a ride to or from the ferry for $3.00 per person if more than one, and $5.00 for single person. Either way, we recommend you pack lightly, bringing only what you will need for the time you will stay.

Ted was a very thoughtful and gracious host. The treehouse was a lot of fun to stay in and the available bikes and canoe made adventures readily accessible

Ted has created an island treasure with his treehouse. I loved every minute of my trip there, sunsets and morning breakfast/coffee in the tower, biking around the island for swimming and exploration, dinner at the cockeyed gull...I couldn't imagine a better way to cap off the summer, this is definitely going to become a regular destination!

This place is a gem. A little on the eccentric side. Definitely a one of a kind experience. Taking the ferry to the island is a treat, and you are just far enough from the hustle and bustle of Portland. Teddie is a wonderful host, and will go out of his way to make you feel at home. He knows the island well, and offered to take us exploring at some of the islands secret spots!

Really cool place, my wife and I had a great time on the island. Ted is a great host, and does everything he can to ensure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable. Unfortunately, due to a work emergency, we had to cut our trip short and get an earlier flight home, but we will definitely want to come back. Thanks Ted, you're the best!!

I thought the place sounded really great from the listing, but I liked it in person even more! Woodsy and island-y at the same time, this is a great location and wonderful place to stay on Peaks. No internet or TV and plenty of great weather, it was a long weekend I can't wait to re-visit!

Ted's tree house is an awesome way to experience Peak's Island and the Portland area. The location is very close to the ferry and made it very easy for my girlfriend and I to get around on bikes. Ted was an excellent host, giving us plenty of options to experience both on the island and in Portland. The tree house is a very unique location and really adds to the overall Peak's Island trip. I would highly recommend Ted's place to any couple looking to get the full Peak's island tour while still being able to jump back and forth between the Portland area.

The Treehouse is a unique way to enjoy the island. House was fun and comfortable, though as the description says, it is made for two people. Ted was welcoming, friendly, and a great host. Super close (1 minute) walk to a sandy and nice beach. An easy bike ride or even walk to the ferry as well
