Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Rustic living at its finest! Wake up to panoramic sunrises over the Cherokee National Forest, view millions of stars at night or plan to catch a full moon rising over the mountains. Located in a quiet farming community, this renovated horse barn features two comfortable bedrooms, kitchen, bath and laundry rooms, expansive porches, grill, gazebo and fire pit. Bring your kayaks, rods & reels, hiking boots or a good book and enjoy what nature has to offer. Minutes to Hiwassee and Ocoee rivers.

The space
This is an actual horse barn which had been converted into a living space several years ago. It was recently remodeled to improve all interior rooms and outdoor areas. The master bedroom offers a side entrance to the porch along with a huge closet and dresser. The second bedroom has dresser space, a clothes rod and shelf.

Large kitchen, bathroom with rain head shower, full size washer and dryer for your convenience. There is no dishwasher or bathtub.

There is plenty of seating outside in addition to a fire pit, gazebo. and gas grill.

The unit has one TV set located in the living room, hooked up with DirecTV as the satellite provider. Many cell carriers have good reception in this area but traveling to town can get spotty. Internet is available but it is not unlimited as we do not have many internet options in this rural area. It can be very slow at times.

There is an abundance of wildlife here! You may see a variety of songbirds, hummingbirds or raptors flying nearby or deer and wild turkey that roam through the property during season.

There is only one living space at the barn. The second floor is unoccupied. Guests have access to first level apartment and outdoor spaces around the barn area. Home is non ADA compliant and no pets are allowed. Living room is entry level, there are up to 2 steps up to other rooms.

Guests may self check-in with electronic keypad. Instructions will be emailed upon confirmed booking.

No hunting or fireworks are allowed on the property .

Greetings!! Thank you for your interest in the Barn. My love for travel began as a child, growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. I was always fascinated by the beauty and history of my 'hometown' with its exceptional museums, theaters and cultural diversity. Thankfully, my parents encouraged me to see the world while I was young. I had committed to do just that, but thought 'why not get paid for it?!' Upon graduation from Loyola University, I began my career within the travel industry, which spanned the next 25 years. During that time, I had worked for 3 major airlines, 2 travel agencies, a major hotel chain and a logistics company. The knowledge, mentors and friendships that I have developed & maintained over the years continues to grow. The many relocations that I had accepted, plus the years of travelling the world extensively, has finally brought me to my perfect landing place! Being your host is not just a job, but it is my passion; to share the little piece of heaven that I have found here in Southeast Tennessee. In my eyes, I am on vacation every day. I hope that you will feel the same when you stay here at the Barn. It is truly a magical place! In addition to hosting my Airbnb, I enjoy swimming, kayaking, nature photography and continue to travel by car, plane or ship when I can! I also volunteer for Happinest Wildlife Rescue in Chattanooga and Florida Parrot Rescue. You may hear squawking outside on occasion when my parrots are enjoying the outdoors, too!
