Interaction with guests

It's up to you. Rebecca provides a perfect getting away from it all or retreat space and many people are happy to be left to their own devices but for those who like to interact and chat, that's absolutely fine too.

Other things to note

Our track is rough and we advise guests to drive very slowly. All kinds of vehicles have driven unharmed down it over decades, but the potholes deserve some respect.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at Miranda's place. Very tranquil and remote and perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and natural getaway. Would definitely visit again.

The weather was not so kind to us on our second stay at Miranda's beautiful Shepherd's hut, but every essential that you need has been thought of and the log burner is there to take off the chill when it rains. We loved going to sleep listening to the sound of the stream, and waking to the birds singing, that is why we returned for a second stay. So much more comfortable than camping!

Thanks Julie for your lovely review. When I went down to the Hut after you left a heron rose up from the stream, which I took as a sign of good people having been there.

Such a lovely, tranquil few days. Nicer than the pictures do justice to. Have just returned feeling massively refreshed, recharged and a bit gutted to be back in the rat race.

After arriving late in the dark, Miranda met us and showed us around. She made sure we had everything we needed for the night, she even put the log burner on before we arrived to get it all warm and cozy. Rebecca was more than we hoped for. The Shepherd hut has a lovely traditional set up and decoration inside, with everything you need for a relaxing get away including some books, playing cards etc. The surroundings are very tranquil and picturesque. We love the fact that the stay is very eco-friendly. We went home feeling very refreshed. Miranda was a lovely host, throughout. We would recommend to family and friends. We hope to visit again in the future.
